The finale of this Nintendo Direct belonged to a new Kirby game. The first trailer for 'Kirby World Beyond' was revealed during the presentation.
Kirby World Beyond is a game where players freely explore a vast world and creatively utilize Kirby's Copy Abilities. Throughout the journey, players must uncover what awaits alongside Kirby in "the world beyond."
In the trailer, players can see the cute yet brave Kirby embarking on a grand adventure using his Copy Abilities. Footage shows Kirby running and hovering through lush natural landscapes, as well as engaging in a battle with King Dedede.
However, fitting the title 'World Beyond,' the latter half of the video shows cracks forming in the world presented so far, with Kirby tearing through them. A new character is also introduced.
The Kirby series will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2027. With Kirby World Beyond scheduled for a Spring 2027 launch, this title is expected to serve as the series' 35th anniversary game. Excluding remakes, this is the first main-line entry in the Kirby series since 2022's Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which marked the 30th anniversary.
Kirby World Beyond is scheduled to launch in Spring 2027. Further details regarding the game and the series' 35th anniversary will be revealed at a later date.
