To celebrate its 2nd anniversary, Pokémon TCG Pocket will introduce a new expansion, 'Dual Fusion,' along with a major update on October 29. This expansion marks the first appearance of 'dual-type' cards that feature two types simultaneously.
The Pokémon Company announced update plans on October 20 for Pokémon TCG Pocket, a smartphone card game co-developed with Creatures Inc. and DeNA. The update adds features to improve accessibility for card collecting and battles, alongside 2nd anniversary celebration rewards and events.
Cards included in 'Dual Fusion' feature Mega Evolution Pokémon such as 'Mega Mewtwo X ex', 'Mega Greninja ex', and 'Mega Dragonite ex', alongside 'Pikachu ex', 'Fuecoco ex', and 'Mew ex'. 'Venusaur', 'Charizard', and 'Blastoise' will also appear with new artwork.
For collection content, 'Special Pack: First Partners' will be added. This pack features the first partner Pokémon encountered at the start of adventures across the Pokémon series' nine regions. It can be opened using dedicated stamina that recovers once a week, containing 1 card per pack with a guaranteed rare card.
For battles, 'Rental Decks' and 'Elite Decks' will be introduced so players can utilize a variety of decks regardless of their card collection status. 'Rental Decks' include 'Pikachu ex', 'Mega Mewtwo X ex', and 'Mega Greninja ex', while 'Elite Decks' allow players to obtain cards like 'Mega Rayquaza ex'. A 'Someone's Deck' feature will also be introduced, allowing players to view and copy popular decks from other players or friends.
System improvements include battle rule settings for Private Matches, enhancements to trade and sharing features, and an expansion of the My Deck limit. In the new 'Limited Battle' content, players build decks using only specified cards to compete.
2nd Anniversary Expansion Exchange Tickets will be distributed starting October 30. Expansion packs exchanged with these tickets guarantee one 2-star card. A 'Rerun PROMO Event 2026' to re-obtain past promo cards and missions to acquire Trainers cards for battles will also take place.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, 'Pika Pika! Pikachu Missions' will also be held. By logging in for 10 days, players can receive a 'Pikachu ex' immersive card, dedicated packs, and accessories. The special illustration for the immersive card was created by graphic artist YOSHIROTTEN.
In November, battle events related to the 'Dual Fusion Emblem Event', 'Bonus Week', and 'Promo Card Pack C Series Vol. 1' will follow. On November 1, collection files and collection boards featuring 'Mega Greninja' will be added, and in December, 'Ranked Match Season C1' will be held where players around the world compete.
