Nintendo has revealed the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Pikmin 4. Along with enhanced graphics, it adds new Dandori challenge content, voice interaction with Oatchi, and more.
Nintendo announced Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition during Nintendo Direct on September 9. The release date is November 12.
The biggest addition is voice functionality leveraging the built-in microphone of Nintendo Switch 2. Players can speak directly to Oatchi during gameplay to command actions, with a total of 9 types of instructions available, enabling voice interaction with Oatchi.
A new mode testing players' Dandori skills, "Anyone Can Try! Dandori Test," will also be added. In set stages, players must issue commands to Pikmin to collect treasures scattered across the area as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The Dandori Test features stages across three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Extreme. Players can practice repeatedly on any stage they choose and attempt the test once they get the hang of it.
Official attempts take place in single-try runs over three days every week: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Players can earn medals based on their results. A total of 72 stage types for the Dandori Test are scheduled to be released sequentially. Six new challenges will be added on the first Monday of every month, and players can earn various rewards by taking on challenges and collecting medals.
In addition, existing Dandori Battles will support the Nintendo Switch 2's Game Share feature, and visual fidelity will become sharper by taking advantage of the console's performance.
