Nintendo revealed a massive lineup extending from this winter into 2027 through 'Nintendo Direct 9.9.2026' on September 9.
This Nintendo Direct also drew attention for running two days in a row, following 'The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct' held on the previous day, September 8. Hosted by Yoshiaki Koizumi, the broadcast lasted approximately 45 minutes. All games shown on this day consisted of Nintendo Switch 2 titles. It clearly shows Nintendo is gearing up for a full-scale platform transition in line with the second year of the Nintendo Switch 2 release.
As a result, ports and multiplatform announcements for numerous titles previously released on home consoles and PC made up the main focus. Amidst these, the first reveals of Nintendo first-party franchises, such as new titles for Metroid and Kirby, were also featured.

The Nintendo Direct kicked off with the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Wilds. Officializing the rumored Switch 2 release, it brings the gameplay experience previously enjoyed on other platforms to Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle including a download code will launch on the same day as the game. The major expansion 'Ascendance' was also announced for release in 2027.

Part 2 of Pokémon Pokopia's paid expansion content, the 'Pokopia Expansion Pass,' adds a variety of new accessories. The trailer highlighted sunglasses in particular. Wearing sunglasses allows for stylish outings with Pokémon, while wearing ribbons in a cozy room or dressing up with a tie offers a more mature style. Additionally, new Pokémon additions were teased.
The Pokopia Expansion Pass is currently on sale, and Part 2 featured here is scheduled for release this winter.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the final chapter of the FF7 remake trilogy. Unlike previous titles in the remake series, this game will be released on Switch 2 on the same day as other platforms—April 8, 2027. Depicting Cloud and his party's final battle, players can freely roam a vast world aboard the airship Highwind. Square Enix opened pre-orders for the game on Nintendo eShop right after the Direct concluded.
In addition, the Switch 2 version of the prequel Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion became available immediately after the broadcast ended.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity DX (Deluxe) is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Depicting the Great Calamity that occurred 100 years prior to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, this version features enhanced graphics and frame rates, along with a significantly increased number of enemies on screen. It includes all previous expansion pass (DLC) content and introduces the highest difficulty mode, 'Calamity Mode,' allowing players to take on an even greater challenge.
Players who own the original Nintendo Switch version can purchase the digital version at a discounted price, and save data transfer is also supported.
■ Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves | October 22, 2026 | ▶Trailer

The latest entry in the Fatal Fury series is being ported to Nintendo Switch 2. The game will launch on October 22, and the broadcast also announced the addition of Season Pass 3 characters: Mikey (Manjiro Sano) and Ken Ryuguji from the anime 'Tokyo Revengers.'
The physical edition will be released on January 21, 2027.

The latest entry in the Dragon Quest Monsters series features Bianca, Nera, and Debora from Dragon Quest V as main characters. A demo covering the early portion of the story was released after the broadcast.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Pikmin 4 adds new content that utilizes Nintendo Switch 2 features. Using the console's built-in microphone, players can give voice commands to Oatchi, with a total of 9 voice commands supported. Praising Oatchi by saying "Good boy" is one of them.
A new mode, "Anyone Can Challenge! Dandori Test," was also revealed. In this content, players test how quickly they can transport all treasure in a stage. Playing without a plan will leave you short on Pikmin or force long detour routes, but securing paths in advance significantly reduces time.
Additionally, players can practice multiple times on desired stages before taking the test to compete for scores against players worldwide. A total of 72 Dandori Test stages are scheduled for sequential release.

Additionally, a new Hero, "Kaguya," has been added. Kaguya is an attacker combining rapid continuous attacks with powerful single strikes, possessing the causality prediction ability to see into the future.

The release schedule for new Kirby Air Ride amiibo was revealed. The unveiled amiibo feature Sword Kirby & Dragoon and Noir Dedede & Hydra, which can be summoned as figure players capable of training Legendary Air Rides. Additionally, they can be swapped out to summon other amiibo machines.
Along with this, events that grant special menu and lobby visual changes or special rewards are also scheduled to take place.

■ Kirby World Beyond | Releasing in 2027 | ▶Trailer

A brand-new Kirby title capped off today's Nintendo Direct. While Kirby and the Forgotten Land, revealed for the series' 30th anniversary, introduced 3D expanded action platforming, today's video showcased free exploration of an even larger world.
Beyond basic actions like running and jumping, Kirby's signature combat—swallowing enemies to copy abilities—was shown. Set across a vast world incomparable to Forgotten Land, exploration elements like battling enemies, climbing trees, and finding new treasure were featured.
The highlight came near the end of the trailer: King Dedede was launched into the air and struck the sky, causing it to crack as if breaking the world open. Sword Kirby then struck the crack with his sword, breaking it open to reveal a whole new world beyond what had been shown so far.
This title will launch in 2027 for the series' 35th anniversary, with more details to be revealed in the future.
