Nintendo revealed a massive lineup extending from this winter into 2027 through 'Nintendo Direct 9.9.2026' on September 9.

This Nintendo Direct also drew attention for running two days in a row, following 'The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct' held on the previous day, September 8. Hosted by Yoshiaki Koizumi, the broadcast lasted approximately 45 minutes. All games shown on this day consisted of Nintendo Switch 2 titles. It clearly shows Nintendo is gearing up for a full-scale platform transition in line with the second year of the Nintendo Switch 2 release.

As a result, ports and multiplatform announcements for numerous titles previously released on home consoles and PC made up the main focus. Amidst these, the first reveals of Nintendo first-party franchises, such as new titles for Metroid and Kirby, were also featured.

■ Monster Hunter Wilds | December 4, 2026 | ▶Trailer

The Nintendo Direct kicked off with the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Wilds. Officializing the rumored Switch 2 release, it brings the gameplay experience previously enjoyed on other platforms to Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle including a download code will launch on the same day as the game. The major expansion 'Ascendance' was also announced for release in 2027.

■ Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2 | Winter 2026 | ▶Trailer

Part 2 of Pokémon Pokopia's paid expansion content, the 'Pokopia Expansion Pass,' adds a variety of new accessories. The trailer highlighted sunglasses in particular. Wearing sunglasses allows for stylish outings with Pokémon, while wearing ribbons in a cozy room or dressing up with a tie offers a more mature style. Additionally, new Pokémon additions were teased.

The Pokopia Expansion Pass is currently on sale, and Part 2 featured here is scheduled for release this winter.

■ Final Fantasy VII Revelation | April 8, 2027 | ▶Trailer

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the final chapter of the FF7 remake trilogy. Unlike previous titles in the remake series, this game will be released on Switch 2 on the same day as other platforms—April 8, 2027. Depicting Cloud and his party's final battle, players can freely roam a vast world aboard the airship Highwind. Square Enix opened pre-orders for the game on Nintendo eShop right after the Direct concluded.

In addition, the Switch 2 version of the prequel Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion became available immediately after the broadcast ended.

■ Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity DX | February 25, 2027 | ▶Trailer

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity DX (Deluxe) is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Depicting the Great Calamity that occurred 100 years prior to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, this version features enhanced graphics and frame rates, along with a significantly increased number of enemies on screen. It includes all previous expansion pass (DLC) content and introduces the highest difficulty mode, 'Calamity Mode,' allowing players to take on an even greater challenge.

Players who own the original Nintendo Switch version can purchase the digital version at a discounted price, and save data transfer is also supported.

■ Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves | October 22, 2026 | ▶Trailer

The latest entry in the Fatal Fury series is being ported to Nintendo Switch 2. The game will launch on October 22, and the broadcast also announced the addition of Season Pass 3 characters: Mikey (Manjiro Sano) and Ken Ryuguji from the anime 'Tokyo Revengers.'

The physical edition will be released on January 21, 2027.

■ Dragon Quest Monsters 4: Bianca and Nera of the Arid Land | December 3, 2026 | ▶Trailer

The latest entry in the Dragon Quest Monsters series features Bianca, Nera, and Debora from Dragon Quest V as main characters. In addition to the traditional mechanic of scouting monsters through battle, players can throw meat to wild monsters on the field to recruit them, with up to 4-player co-op battles also supported.

A demo covering the early portion of the story was released after the broadcast.

Set on a continent crawling with monsters, this dark fantasy RPG tells the story of Geralt on his quest to find Ciri, the child of prophecy. Enhanced in graphics and gameplay from the Nintendo Switch 1 version, it supports various new controls tailored to Nintendo Switch 2, including mouse and motion controls, gyro aiming, and touchscreen.

Both previously released expansion packs are also included.

■ Kingdom Come: Deliverance II | Releasing in 2027 | ▶Trailer

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, another action RPG exploring a vast world, is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Characterized by realistic first-person melee combat, players explore majestic castles and dense forests, with choices made while interacting with townsfolk shaping Henry's destiny. The Royal Edition includes the base game along with previously released DLCs.

■ Meccha Chameleon | September 10, 2026 | ▶Trailer

Meccha Chameleon, a competitive game blending painting and hide-and-seek, launched service on Nintendo Switch 2 immediately after the broadcast. The hiding team camouflages themselves like chameleons to match surrounding colors and patterns in predetermined locations, combining paint and poses to blend into the background. The previously released Steam version achieved global box-office success in particular.

■ Professor Layton and the New World of Steam | December 10, 2026 | ▶Trailer

A puzzle-solving game featuring the English gentleman Professor Layton. Once again, it depicts the story unfolding as he visits a city of invention alongside Luke. Players can enjoy interactive puzzles that involve drawing lines, flipping switches, and turning keys through direct touch and control. Furthermore, every solved puzzle advances their story, leading into larger mysteries.

■ Yo-kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain | Release Date TBA | ▶Trailer

A remake title of Yo-kai Watch 2, which originally released on Nintendo 3DS. As the second entry was the most critically acclaimed in the series, it was a title frequently requested for a remake by fans. While preserving elements from the original, this version is recreated with enhanced graphics.

Additionally, an extended story, new Yo-kai, and brand-new features will be included.

■ Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition | November 12, 2026 | ▶Trailer

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Pikmin 4 adds new content that utilizes Nintendo Switch 2 features. Using the console's built-in microphone, players can give voice commands to Oatchi, with a total of 9 voice commands supported. Praising Oatchi by saying "Good boy" is one of them.

A new mode, "Anyone Can Challenge! Dandori Test," was also revealed. In this content, players test how quickly they can transport all treasure in a stage. Playing without a plan will leave you short on Pikmin or force long detour routes, but securing paths in advance significantly reduces time.

Additionally, players can practice multiple times on desired stages before taking the test to compete for scores against players worldwide. A total of 72 Dandori Test stages are scheduled for sequential release.

■ The Portopia Serial Murder Case Sequel: The Forgotten Burial | Releasing in 2027 | ▶Trailer

A title carrying over Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii's adventure game The Portopia Serial Murder Case. It inherits the original world where you and partner Yasu investigate a series of murder cases triggered by the mysterious death of a financial company president, while adding a brand-new storyline from a fresh perspective.

■ Xenoblade Chronicles 3 | December 3, 2026 | ▶Trailer

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. A new mode, "Heroes' Record," where players continuously repel attacking enemies, has been newly added. In the new mode, defeating enemies fills a gauge to upgrade various abilities or recruit allies, leading to a showdown with the final boss based on choices made.

Additionally, a new Hero, "Kaguya," has been added. Kaguya is an attacker combining rapid continuous attacks with powerful single strikes, possessing the causality prediction ability to see into the future.

■ Mega Man: Dual Override | Spring 2027 | ▶Trailer

A completely new title in the Mega Man series and a new main numbered entry. Today's video notably revealed gameplay of Proto Man, the wandering warrior. Proto Man showcases action utilizing interference, and players can further enhance character capabilities by combining custom chips.

An amiibo releasing alongside the game's launch schedule was also unveiled during the Nintendo Direct.

■ Ondeh Ondeh: Kaya's Sweet & Fun Adventure | Releasing in 2027 | ▶Trailer

World Creators are beings responsible for the balance and peace of the world. Set out on an adventure with Kaya to prove she is worthy of holding that title. Journey through fantastical realms, solve music-themed puzzles, and scoop up the rhythm flowing through the world using a magical spoon.

■ Kirby Air Ride amiibo | November 12, 2026 | ▶Trailer

The release schedule for new Kirby Air Ride amiibo was revealed. The unveiled amiibo feature Sword Kirby & Dragoon and Noir Dedede & Hydra, which can be summoned as figure players capable of training Legendary Air Rides. Additionally, they can be swapped out to summon other amiibo machines.

Along with this, events that grant special menu and lobby visual changes or special rewards are also scheduled to take place.

■ Investiture of the Gods: Ascending Destiny | Releasing in 2026 | ▶Trailer

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the original manga 'Hoshin Engi' (Investiture of the Gods), this roguelite action game is set after the events of the original story. A new protagonist newly drawn by original creator Ryu Fujisaki tackles dungeons alongside a partner spiritual beast. Players combine Treasure Paopei weapons to discover their own combat style.

■ Onyx: The Dark Grip | Releasing in 2027 | ▶Trailer

A horror adventure where players control Holden, who enters a fog-shrouded village guided by a mysterious voice. Beyond Joy-Con controls, players can interact with the surrounding world in various ways using the touchscreen, such as opening doors or peering into others' minds. However, Holden perceives these interactions as supernatural phenomena and gradually loses touch with reality; keeping his sanity intact while uncovering the truth in a village full of mystery is the core of the game.

The new Star Fox update launching on the 30th adds a splitscreen Battle Mode supporting up to 4 players, along with three new battle stages. Additionally, up to 4 players can team up on a single Nintendo Switch 2 console to participate in online battles.

A long-awaited new 2D Metroid title following Metroid Dread, which launched on Nintendo Switch in 2021. Today's video highlighted its signature side-scrolling gameplay and the Morph Ball. It also revealed a mysterious group attacking Samus Aran and energy-draining actions.

Additionally, a Special Edition including an amiibo and SteelBook will be released on the same day as the game.

A dark fantasy RPG set in a future where oceans cover most of the world. The game is set in The White City, the world's sole remaining city. Wade, a soldier with the power to restore memories, learns about the world outside the city and is branded a heretic; as he pursues the truth, the story traces back into the past.

A remake title of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 3. Players become Duel Academy students and aim for the top in Tag Duels with a partner. Over 100 characters are available to choose as partners, and duels feature full voice acting for all characters.

A 30th-anniversary collection for the series. It includes a total of 10 titles: 1 through 6, X, 7, Advance, plus an original location test version revealed on home consoles for the first time. Online co-op play is supported, and a Gallery Mode displaying various concept art is also added.

Returning as a full remake like Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, Romancing SaGa 3 is back. Choosing one of eight protagonists, players follow the story surrounding the child of destiny who survived trials.

The Glimmer system—learning new techniques during battle—and combo attacks with allies are central, with choices altering the story. It also features new visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, and a newly arranged soundtrack.

Mario Kart World receives its 1.8.0 free update. Racing through the world of Mario Kart World brings familiar terrain from Super Mario Kart courses. Through this free update, a total of 10 courses—including Choco Island, Vanilla Lake, and Ghost Valley—are added as new VS Mode courses. Stepping on item panels to gain items is recreated just like in Super Mario Kart.

Two new routes, Propeller Rally and Turnip Rally, are added to Survival Mode, with the free update distributed after the Direct.

Distribution began right after the broadcast.

A remake title of Persona 4, the fourth main entry in Atlus's popular RPG series Persona. Following the Persona 3 remake, Persona 4 Revival comes to fans with greatly evolved graphics, presentation, and various additional elements. Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, its release date was set for May 20, 2027.

A brand-new entry in the Persona series. Today's Direct officially confirmed its Nintendo Switch 2 release with a logo reveal, without further details.

■ Kirby World Beyond | Releasing in 2027 | ▶Trailer

A brand-new Kirby title capped off today's Nintendo Direct. While Kirby and the Forgotten Land, revealed for the series' 30th anniversary, introduced 3D expanded action platforming, today's video showcased free exploration of an even larger world.

Beyond basic actions like running and jumping, Kirby's signature combat—swallowing enemies to copy abilities—was shown. Set across a vast world incomparable to Forgotten Land, exploration elements like battling enemies, climbing trees, and finding new treasure were featured.

The highlight came near the end of the trailer: King Dedede was launched into the air and struck the sky, causing it to crack as if breaking the world open. Sword Kirby then struck the crack with his sword, breaking it open to reveal a whole new world beyond what had been shown so far.

This title will launch in 2027 for the series' 35th anniversary, with more details to be revealed in the future.
