A free update for Star Fox, the newest entry in the series, will be released on September 30, KST.
Revealed during Nintendo Direct, this update brings a variety of new features to Star Fox.
First, three new battle stages—Katina, Sector X, and Venom—will be added. Katina is a stage where occupying an area triggers a giant laser to attack the enemy team. Sector X requires players to destroy asteroids while dodging exploding ion pulses, while in Venom, players must stay in the area to activate the data scan defense system and then immediately evacuate.
Following the update, players can play via split-screen in Battle Mode, and up to four players can form a team on a single Nintendo Switch 2 console to participate in online battles.
Star Fox Adventures is coming to Nintendo GameCube - Nintendo Classic. Fox explores a dinosaur-inhabited planet alongside Tricky the Dinosaur to conduct an investigation. Star Fox Adventures is scheduled for distribution right after Nintendo Direct concludes.
Star Fox is a remake of Star Fox 64, the Nintendo 64 title. Featuring revamped graphics and character designs, it was officially released on July 2, 2026.
