LEVEL-5's upcoming title 'Professor Layton and the New World of Steam' will be released on December 10. LEVEL-5 revealed the game's release date alongside a new trailer during a Nintendo Direct broadcast on the 9th.
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is the latest entry in LEVEL-5's flagship franchise, the Professor Layton series. Chronologically, it takes place one year after Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. After Luke, who is residing in America due to family circumstances, sends a letter to Professor Layton, the two reunite and jump into a new investigation.
The game is set in the American city of Steam Bison. Driven by advancements in steam engines, the city has grown to surpass even London, and a mysterious incident occurring here sparks a new adventure for Professor Layton and Luke. Players will explore the city, talk to residents, and search for clues, all while solving a variety of signature puzzles to uncover the truth behind the case.
Meanwhile, LEVEL-5 will hold an online showcase on the 10th. The broadcast will air on YouTube, revealing the latest information on various titles currently developed and operated by LEVEL-5.
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is scheduled to release on December 10 for PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch 1, and Switch 2.
