A free update for Star Fox, the newest game in the series, will go live on September 30 (KST).
Unveiled during Nintendo Direct, the update adds a variety of new features to Star Fox.
First, three new Battle Stages—Katina, Sector X, and Venom—will be added. Katina is a stage where capturing an area triggers a giant laser to attack the enemy team. Sector X requires players to destroy asteroids while dodging exploding ion pulses, while on Venom, players must stay within an area to activate the Data Scan Defense System and then immediately evacuate.
Following the update, players can play via split-screen in Battle Mode, and up to four players on a single Nintendo Switch 2 console can team up to enter online battles.
Star Fox Adventures will also be added to Nintendo GameCube - Nintendo Classics. In the game, Fox explores alongside Tricky the dinosaur to investigate a planet inhabited by dinosaurs. Star Fox Adventures is scheduled for release following the end of the Nintendo Direct presentation.
Star Fox is a remake of the Nintendo 64 game Star Fox 64. Featuring updated graphics and character designs, it officially launched on July 2, 2026.
