Nintendo has finally officially unveiled a remake of 'The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time,' putting an end to the persistent rumors that have circulated for years.

Nintendo announced the title during its Nintendo Direct online showcase on the 9th. The trailer begins with narration detailing the origins of Hyrule, focusing on an ancient tree standing alone in a forest at the edge of the kingdom. This forest is home to the Kokiri, who each have their own fairy companion.

However, there is one special boy among them who lacks a fairy. The camera focuses on him; while no explicit explanation is given, the Triforce mark appearing on his hand and his iconic design make it immediately clear to series fans that the boy is Link.

The logo for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time then appears, signaling that the long-awaited remake is finally on the way.

While the trailer did not feature gameplay or detailed cutscenes, Nintendo has confirmed a 2026 release, and more information is expected to be revealed soon through future Direct presentations. The footage also offered a glimpse of Link's updated character model, hinting at improved graphical fidelity.
