NC announced on the 10th that it is updating its MMORPG, Lineage W, with new narrative content.

The narrative content allows players to experience the story of the original Lineage comic in a mission-based format. Missions follow the perspectives of the two protagonists, Ken Rauhel and Death Knight. The game features graphics and a UI designed to feel like reading a comic book.

Players can unlock the narrative content by clearing hidden missions scattered throughout Aden World. The missions include a variety of gameplay elements, such as combat and minigames.

The narrative content is organized into multiple chapters and episodes. Completing an episode rewards players with 'Memory Fragments' and unlocks comic book pages within the game. These collected fragments allow players to revisit the story as if reading a comic book. The second chapter is scheduled for release in July, with subsequent episodes to be introduced sequentially.

Lineage W offers various rewards to assist with character growth as players progress through the episodes. Players can obtain EXP bonus buff potions—which can be used alongside existing EXP potions—as well as narrative-exclusive protection items and collection materials that provide stat boosts. Completing the first episode of Death Knight in the first chapter and the first episode of Ken Rauhel in the second chapter grants the Red Lion Cloak and Black Dragon Gaiters, respectively.

Players who complete a chapter receive a skin card representing that story. The first chapter rewards players with the Red Knight Death Knight skin card, while the second chapter offers the Astaire Ken Rauhel skin card.
