SQUARE ENIX has announced that the latest entry in the series, 'Kingdom Hearts 4', will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside the new title, a 'Kingdom Hearts Collection 1-3' bundle will also be released for the console.
SQUARE ENIX unveiled a teaser trailer for 'Kingdom Hearts 4' during the Nintendo Direct on June 9. The footage is set in Quadratum, a world resembling modern-day Tokyo, and offers a glimpse into the narratives of Sora and various other characters. The trailer also showcased Sora's fast-paced action using his Keyblade.
In addition to 'Kingdom Hearts 4', Nintendo will release 'Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX', 'Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue', and 'Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind' for the Nintendo Switch 2. While these titles were previously available as cloud versions on the original Nintendo Switch, the enhanced performance of the Switch 2 allows them to run natively on the hardware. A bundle containing 'Kingdom Hearts 1-3' will also be available.
For the three titles in the 'Kingdom Hearts 1-3' collection, save data from the cloud versions can be transferred. As with previous releases, only 'Kingdom Hearts 3' will support localization, though it has been confirmed that 'Kingdom Hearts 4' will officially support Korean.
Additional release dates and further details for 'Kingdom Hearts 4' will be announced at a later time. 'Kingdom Hearts 1-3' is scheduled for release on October 8.
