'Atelier Karia: The Kingdom of Night and the Signpost of Memories' (Atelier Karia), the latest entry in the Atelier series—now a flagship franchise for Koei Tecmo—has been unveiled.

Koei Tecmo announced the new alchemy RPG, Atelier Karia, during the Nintendo Direct held on the 9th. Scheduled for release in early 2027 on the Nintendo Switch 2, the title follows the story of a new protagonist, Karia. Having lost all her memories, Karia joins an exploration team, encounters an unknown underground world deep beneath the earth, and discovers alchemy for the first time.

The game's core narrative revolves around Karia confronting her lost memories, while continuing the series' signature systems of gathering, synthesis, and combat. Atelier Karia is the successor to the previous title, 'Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Envisioned Land,' with 'memories' serving as the connecting theme. The setting, Aladis, is also shared with the previous game.

Koei Tecmo also unveiled a Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Envisioned Land. Announced following the Direct, this Switch 2 edition offers a more seamless gameplay experience through improved graphics, higher frame rates, and reduced loading times.
