Once Activision Blizzard announced that they would no longer be supporting the competitive Heroes of the Storm scene, Ian “workhorse” Anderson, the founder of HeroesHearth went to work. His goal, aside from growing his platform dedicated to entertaining and educating the community close to his heart, was to help establish a way for the competitive scene to not completely die due to the game developer’s decision.

The LCK 2019 off with a Great, Fierce Start: “Meta these days…”
This week's editorial cartoon is about the LCK Spring Split starting off with the fierce ‘brawl' meta. As the LCK went through a rough time last year, it received a lot of criticism and disapproval from the fans. The ‘safe and cautious' play style that was often seen in the LCK received the most judgment; the LCK style of playing safe and risk-free until the mid-late phase was often compared to how other regional teams did not hesitate to actively engage in fights. Not only did it prove less fun for the viewers, but its results were also unsatisfactory as well. Riot has been adding patches that were focused around skirmishes since last year. This means that the game is changing so that it is more about fighting aggressively from the early phase rather than being cautious till the later phase. These changes are well reflected in the League's atmosphere with the new patches.

On January 19th, the 4th day of the 1st week for the LCK 2019 Spring Season took place at the LoL Park, South Korea. The 2nd match was between Griffin and Jin Air Green Wings, in which Griffin overwhelmed Jin Air Green Wings in both sets, giving only 1 kill and no turrets. It was a perfect victory even though Griffin tried a new team comp in the first set, picking Urgot, Evelyn, Sion, Vladimir, and Ornn. Following is the interview with Griffin's AD Carry, Viper. It seemed at first both teams were almost even in the number of kills with each team winning a team fight in the 1st game. However, DAMWON focused on keeping their enemy AD Carry from scaling with much harrasment, which played a part in turning the game around.

Former Naventic players file lawsuit against owner for unpaid earnings
Today it was revealed by Dot Esports' reporter Nicole Carpenter that five former professional Heroes of the Storm players for Team Naventic have filed a lawsuit against former owner, James Ross Elliot II, for more than $50,000 in unpaid earnings. According to the report and information provided to InvenGlobal, the players had tried to serve court documents to the owner 14 times. But, due to Elliot's unknown location, they had been unable to complete the process. The Dot Esports report claims that Christopher “zuna” Buechter, Ken “Kenma” Buechter, Sammuel “bigempct” Hua, Thomas “Tomster” Maguire, and Josh “bkid” Choi state that they are owed $55,125 in unpaid wages and prize money, not including interest.
