H2 Interactive, in collaboration with City Connection, officially released the Korean version of 'FZ: Formation Z' on May 21.

'FZ: Formation Z' is a modern reimagining of the 80s action game 'Formation Z,' originally by Jaleco. Set on a war-torn Earth depleted of resources, the story follows the emergence of the Zanac faction, which has occupied the moon and launched an invasion of Earth. Players pilot the secret human weapon, the IXPEL, to advance toward Zanac's lunar base.
The IXPEL can freely transform between robot and flight modes. The robot mode is specialized for melee combat and precision shooting, while the flight mode excels in aerial combat through speed and maneuverability. Players can tackle a total of five large-scale missions in any order. FZ Points earned through missions can be used to customize the unit's appearance or equip modules at the factory to enhance performance, with support for features like part replacement, color changes, and decal application.
Key content includes a Score Attack mode to challenge other players' high scores, a War Record tracking the number of enemies defeated and sortie counts for each unit, an Enemy Data section containing information on downed foes, and a Gallery where artwork is unlocked upon meeting specific conditions.
The game is available in Standard and Limited Editions. The physical Limited Edition package includes the base game, a limited-edition box, an acrylic stand, an official fan book (in Japanese), and a soundtrack CD. First-run purchasers will receive the 'R-9Aix Extra Arrow' DLC unit—a robot-mode transformation of the R-9 from 'R-TYPE'—along with two types of decals as a bonus. This DLC is also scheduled to be sold separately at a later date.
