With three weeks left until launch, new gameplay footage of 'GTA6' premiered for the first time on the animated series 'South Park'.
Episode 4 of South Park Season 29, titled 'Guinea Pig on a Stick', aired on Comedy Central on the 28th local time. About 17 seconds of actual gameplay footage was inserted into a parody scene within the episode. The ending credits included a message noting that the GTA6 footage was provided courtesy of Rockstar Games, confirming that the footage was delivered through official channels.

The episode revolves around a story where a high-end steakhouse chain buys up cattle after beef becomes a scarce commodity in town, and the kids step in to protect them. It has been described as a satire of the political atmosphere framing local beef as a symbol of patriotism. Among these events, GTA6 appears right before the end when a woman playing an insider introduces a new feature to the kids on TV.
The setting in the video is Vice City Beach. Protagonist Jason is seen walking his pet dog and picking up the waste his dog left on the beach with a bag. Afterwards, he throws this poop bag at another person and can even be seen picking it back up to attack his opponent again.
The scene of fighting with poop fits right in with South Park. In late 1997, South Park aired a Christmas episode featuring the talking poop character Mr. Hankey, and in the game 'South Park: The Stick of Truth', farts are used as magic. In effect, it highlights South Park's signature toilet humor within its unhinged direction and scenario.
This video also connects to Rockstar's recent all-out marketing strategy. Back in August, Rockstar generated buzz by premiering an extended video on Netflix first rather than at a gaming event. Later, they had the NBA's Miami Heat compete under the Vice City name, while the entire Miami area—the real-world model for the game's setting—turned into real-life billboards.
Meanwhile, Red Dead Redemption 2 previously appeared across two episodes of South Park back in 2018. That instance differed from GTA6 this time in that it dealt with content from an already-released game.
GTA6 will be released on November 19 for PS5 and XSX.
