Hideo Kojima has revealed the development status of his new titles 'OD-KNOCK' and 'PHYSINT', both created in collaboration with Xbox. Actor Bill Skarsgård will play the protagonist in PHYSINT.
Hideo Kojima appeared on the Xbox TGS 2026 broadcast to share details on the two new IPs. He revealed that he visited the Xbox office in Redmond, United States, earlier this year, where they discussed the future of gaming and digital entertainment, as well as the goals both companies aim to achieve together.
First, development on OD is progressing smoothly. Performance capture and ADR recording, which had been paused, resumed this year, and production is proceeding as planned. Kojima shared that the cast, including Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer, are delivering intense and outstanding performances.
He introduced OD as "a completely new kind of game that tests the thresholds of fear." The project is taking shape through continuous experimentation and iteration, with further details to be disclosed at a later date.

Development on PHYSINT, which Xbox is publishing, is also moving forward. Kojima described PHYSINT as the culmination of his career, explaining that it is "a project that will redefine 'action-espionage', unbound by the frameworks of existing digital entertainment genres." Casting, talent scanning, and collaborations with outside creators are currently underway.
Actor Bill Skarsgård will star as the protagonist in PHYSINT. Skarsgård gained global recognition for playing Pennywise in the movie It, and has since appeared in various works including It Chapter Two, Barbarian, John Wick: Chapter 4, The Crow, and Nosferatu. Additionally, Charlee Fraser, Ma Dong-seok (Don Lee), and Minami Hamabe were previously revealed as cast members for PHYSINT, with further casting announcements to follow.

Kojima stated that he and Skarsgård have long been fans of each other's work and decided to embark on this new challenge together. Earlier this year, costume fittings, scans, and camera tests were conducted with Skarsgård and Charlee Fraser. He explained that this gave him tremendous confidence in the direction of the project and further solidified his vision for the final product.
The newly revealed teaser visual features photos of Bill Skarsgård and Charlee Fraser that Kojima personally shot at the time.
Meanwhile, PHYSINT recently made headlines after ending its collaboration with Sony and partnering anew with Xbox. On the 10th, Kojima revealed via his X account, "In mid-June this year, I received notice of project cancellation from Sony," adding, "After three months of exploring options, Xbox joined us as our new partner."
