Tifa Lockhart, one of the heroines of Final Fantasy VII, has been included in the Year 4 roster for Street Fighter 6.
On the 6th (KST), Capcom unveiled its Year 4 content for Street Fighter 6, announcing that Elena, Arjun, Bosch, and Tifa will be joining the game.
The news of Tifa's inclusion was undoubtedly the highlight of the announcement, capturing the attention of gamers everywhere. With her striking character design and a heavy-hitting combat style centered on martial arts, Tifa has long been one of the most requested guest characters among fighting game fans. While there have been previous collaborations between Final Fantasy and fighting games, they featured protagonists like Noctis from Final Fantasy XV or Clive from Final Fantasy XVI, leaving fans disappointed as Tifa remained on the sidelines.
This marks the first time Tifa will appear as an official playable character in a major third-party AAA fighting game outside of SQUARE ENIX titles. Fans are eager to see how her signature moves from Final Fantasy VII, such as 'Unbridled Strength' and 'Meteor Strike,' will be implemented within the unique combat systems of Street Fighter 6.
Meanwhile, the Street Fighter 6 Year 4 content, which includes these four compelling new characters—Tifa, Elena, Arjun, and Bosch—is scheduled to be released and updated sequentially starting in 2027.
