DeloQuest, a 100% subsidiary of Nexon Korea, began recruiting personnel on the 23rd for 'Project BB,' a next-generation 2.5D MMO RPG utilizing the 'The Kingdom of the Winds' IP.

'Project BB' deviates from the conventions of existing genres that emphasize large-scale multiplayer, instead aiming for solo and small-to-medium-sized party play and loose connections between users. This highlights the emphasis on the inherent fun of an 'RPG' rather than massive multiplayer, despite being an MMO RPG. In particular, it is interpreted that significant weight has been placed on narrative design—including story, narrative, and cinematic direction—due to the strong influence of JRPGs. Along with this, the plan is to provide a dynamic and engaging experience by meticulously refining the combat design. In terms of graphics, they are researching top-tier 2.5D visuals by combining pixel characters with 3D backgrounds. Dilloquest, the developer, was established last December as a new entity under Nexon Korea. Kim Jong-yul, Deputy Head of the Publishing & Live Division at Nexon Korea, was appointed as the first CEO. Since joining the company in 2008, CEO Kim has laid the foundation for long-term growth by overseeing the live publishing of major projects such as 'MapleStory 2', 'The Kingdom of the Winds: Yeon', and 'Prasia Chronicles'. A number of key personnel have joined Diloquest, led by General Director Lee Tae-sung. The company plans to expand the size of its development team through open recruitment in 2026 and push forward with the development of new titles in earnest. In the recruitment notice, the company stated, "We will make striving to be half a step better, even with an already standardized system, the basic unit of our team, and we will not compromise on details until the very end." This new recruitment and project announcement is highly significant in that Nexon has embarked on the direct expansion of the 'The Kingdom of the Winds' IP through a wholly owned subsidiary rather than an affiliate. Previously, Nexon had terminated the joint business agreement for the game 'The Kingdom of the Winds 2' that it had signed with its affiliate, Supercat. The strategy is to establish a stable and systematic in-house development environment through Diloquest, based on a deep understanding of IP.
