Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a trailer introducing the South Korean youth team for 'Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters.' With the reveal of various regional youth teams, this marks the debut of the team most anticipated by domestic players.

The video features the duo of Lee Yong-woon and Cha In-cheon, the core of the South Korean youth team from the original Captain Tsubasa manga. Both players are depicted as key pillars of the national team, currently playing in the Bundesliga. Notably, Cha In-cheon is a character inspired by real-life football legend Cha Bum-kun, portrayed as a top-tier player active in the first division of the Bundesliga, the highest league at the time.

The trailer showcases the series' signature fantasy-style visuals through 'Super Moves,' such as a tiger appearing alongside a shot or a spinning shot with blades. Additionally, a new character not found in the original work, Gil Si-woo, makes an appearance. As a center-back, Gil demonstrates a tackle that precisely intercepts the ball without touching the opposing player. The video concludes with Gil winning the ball and delivering a precise pass forward, leading to a combined shot by Lee Yong-woon and Cha In-cheon.

Through their dialogue, the South Korean youth team displays a more intense fighting spirit than other national teams. They express their determination to give everything for the team and their resolve to end the match with their own shots. The new character, Gil Si-woo, also shows his focus on his role as a defender, declaring his intent to shut down the opposing striker's play.

Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is set four years after the events of its predecessor, Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions, following a matured Tsubasa Ozora and his teammates as they challenge for the world title as the Japanese youth national team. The game is expected to offer a fresh narrative, featuring plot developments not found in the original work and episodes told from the perspective of rivals.

Featuring a total of 22 national teams, the game is set to launch on August 27 for PS, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, with the Steam version arriving on August 28. Notably, unlike its predecessor, the game will officially support Korean, allowing domestic fans to enjoy the experience without language barriers.
