In the second round of the '2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK)' Road to MSI held at LoL PARK in Jongno on the 7th, kt Rolster defeated Dplus KIA 3-2. After dropping the first two sets, they turned the tide with a win in the third and showcased incredible late-game focus to complete a dramatic reverse sweep in the fourth and fifth sets. kt Rolster will now head to Wonju to face Gen.G Esports.
Game 1 was defined by a 'bot lane hard carry.' The duo of 'Smash' Shin Geum-jae and 'Career' Oh Hyeong-seok, playing Ashe and Seraphine, created a massive gap from the laning phase to lead the team to victory. After catching 'Effort' Lee Sang-ho's Nautilus twice and building a CS lead of over 20, the bot duo secured an ace during a Herald teamfight thanks to Ashe's free-hitting positioning. Dplus KIA, who continued their winning streak by securing the early Baron, took the first game in about 23 minutes. Ashe finished with over 1k DPM.
The balance of Game 2 also collapsed early. 'Lucid' Choi Yong-hyeok's Jarvan IV successfully ganked the mid lane repeatedly, handing 'Bdd' Kwak Bo-seong's Taliyah two early deaths, and Dplus KIA unilaterally picked up 4 kills in a skirmish over the bottom scuttle crab. Despite a solo kill from 'PerfecT' Lee Seung-min, Dplus KIA continued to rack up kills, extending their lead to over 10k gold.
kt Rolster managed to claw back slightly by picking off 'Siwoo' Jeon Si-woo's Jayce, who was growing slowly, and shutting down the fed Jarvan IV. They made a bold play to trade the Ocean Soul for a Baron, narrowing the gold gap to 5k. However, when Elder Dragon and Baron spawned simultaneously, 'Cuzz' Moon Woo-chan's Vi was caught after an overextended initiation. Dplus KIA secured the Elder Dragon, wiped out the opposition, and took the second game.
kt Rolster successfully fought back in Game 3. Focusing on Dplus KIA's bot lane with 'Cuzz's' Nocturne, they took the lead and rotated their fed bot duo to the top lane to secure additional kills. They then snowballed the game through teamfights led by 'Aiming' Kim Ha-ram's Smolder. Although Smolder was caught early in the 4th dragon teamfight by a Skarner-Gnar combo, kt Rolster's top-side growth proved too much, and they secured a massive victory. kt Rolster took Game 3, capped off by a pentakill from Smolder.
Game 4 was a grand comeback for kt Rolster. After a shaky start following a lost initial teamfight, they fell behind by 10k gold due to poor positioning and being outmaneuvered in side lanes. However, kt Rolster never lost focus. They caught 'Siwoo's' Jax as he tried to flank, moved to the Elder Dragon, and engaged again to pick up more kills. Empowered by the Elder Buff, kt Rolster secured an ace in a mid teamfight to force a Game 5.
In the final game, both teams traded kills across all lanes, remaining deadlocked for a long time. Dplus KIA finally broke the stalemate by securing the Ocean Soul and winning a teamfight to take Baron, pulling ahead by over 5k gold. But kt Rolster wasn't going down without a fight. They pulled off a 'one hit' comeback by stealing the Elder Dragon and winning a massive teamfight, putting an exclamation point on their 'reverse sweep' victory.
