Runes are divided into three main categories: Weight, HP, and Hit, with up to 6 slots available in each. You can fuse any 4 runes for a chance to obtain a higher-grade rune. While it is possible to craft Rare grade runes, it requires a staggering 10k Seals, so it is generally better to rely on fusion. Note that fusion results are random, and you cannot select a specific type of rune.

The key here is the set effect for each category. Set effects trigger when all 6 runes in a category are at least Unique grade, and again at Epic grade, with different bonuses for each. Weight increases MP recovery, HP increases Potion Recovery Rate, and Hit increases Weapon damage. Therefore, it is most efficient to prioritize the Hit category first, as it provides both Hit and Weapon damage. It will take time, but collecting them little by little will make a significant difference later on.

Runes are difficult to obtain through hunting, as only Oculus, the boss of the level 45 dungeon 'Artaron Temple,' drops Rune Chests. Instead, try to participate in all available content, as World Boss rewards provide plenty of Rune Chests. You can also get one chest each from Main quests 15-4 and 20-4.

As of July 2026, you can obtain Rune Chests from three packages: 'Caltheon's Growth,' 'Rare Runes,' and 'Nine Growth.' Skip 'Nine Growth' as it requires 1.5 million Nine. The 'Caltheon's Growth' package is the most efficient choice, as it also includes 'Caltheon's Tokens' for crafting Cloaks.

Unlike stats, Traits cannot be increased upon Level up; they can only be raised using an item called a 'Trait Stone.' Currently, Trait Stones can only be obtained from bosses in high-level Fields/Dungeons like Gwent's Nest, Fire Nest, and Sanctuary of Darkness, making them hard to acquire outside of occasional mail rewards or package purchases. The most efficient method is to purchase the 'Weekly Growth' package (which contains 5 Trait Stones and Diamonds) and then use those Diamonds to buy the 'Rare Trait Package.'

Since Trait Stones are precious, there are a few things to keep in mind before attempting to enhance a Trait. There are three categories: Attack, Defense, and Recovery. Resetting a Trait applies random options with a 50% success rate for each. Resetting will change all three options and wipe out any existing enhancements, so plan your settings carefully from the start.

Among these, for the third option (Recovery), you must select MP recover rate rather than HP recover rate, as MP recovery is difficult to come by in the game. For Attack and Defense, it is generally best to choose PvE options, though if your playstyle is focused on PK, PVP options are perfectly fine.

Trait enhancement starts at a base success rate of 30%, increasing by 10% with each failure up to a maximum of 70%. Therefore, it is efficient to attempt enhancements on less critical Defense Traits when the success rate is low, and save your attempts on Attack/Recovery Traits for when the success rate is higher.
