T1 continued its winning streak on the 1st, securing a comfortable victory in the first set against TLAW during the 4th round of the '2026 LoL Mid-Season Invitational (MSI)' Play-In stage, held at the Daejeon Convention Center Exhibition Hall 2.

T1 applied heavy pressure to the bottom lane and attempted a dive to take down 'CoreJJ''s Rell, but 'Quid''s Ryze rotated quickly to the bottom lane to catch 'Oner''s Xin Zhao. Meanwhile, in the top lane, 'Doran''s Ambessa secured a solo kill on 'Morgan''s Gnar, and T1 continued to target Gnar to gain a significant advantage.

Team Liquid also focused its efforts on the bottom lane, with Ryze picking up additional kills, while 'Faker''s Taliyah gained a lead in the mid lane. Team Liquid managed to take down both 'Keria''s Bard and Ambessa in the bottom lane, and after catching 'Phase''s Ezreal, they won a teamfight to close the gold gap and secure the Rift Herald.

However, Team Liquid made a mistake in utilizing the Rift Herald, leading to Jarvan being caught out and killed, which allowed T1 to gain a massive advantage in the mid lane. Team Liquid suffered a crushing defeat in the subsequent teamfight, widening the gap. Firmly in the driver's seat, T1 started Baron; they won the ensuing teamfight and secured the objective, pushing their global gold lead to over 10k by the 26-minute mark to close out the first set.
