A special event is coming to Goddess of Victory: Nikke this June. It’s a lavish, three-week event complete with full voice acting and dedicated fields. Furthermore, the May developer note teased that a 'familiar face we haven't seen in a long time' would appear, sparking plenty of speculation among players.

There was a wide range of speculation, from guesses that it might be a variant of 'Metis' to hopeful wishes that people's favorite characters would make an appearance.

Now, the identity has been revealed through an official announcement: it’s the Arc Ranger. If you’ve been keeping up with the main story and story events, you’ll likely recognize the name, but for those who are still unfamiliar, here’s the scoop. Plus, the newly released screenshots seem to hide even more secrets.

Who is the Arc Ranger? And what direction will this story event take? Let’s speculate together based on what we know so far!

#. Arc Ranger Black appears in the story event 'D.ARK HERO,' starring Trony!

The Arc Rangers are heroes from a popular tokusatsu-style show within the Arc. Trony, the star of the D.ARK HERO story event, is a huge fan of the series. It’s a well-known show in the Arc, familiar not only to Trony but also to fellow gamers Maiden and Elegg, and even the Commander, who has been known to quote the Arc Rangers' iconic lines.

D.ARK HERO begins with Trony and the Commander watching the Arc Ranger Black theatrical film. To their surprise, the real Arc Ranger Black is actually at the theater. Trony and the Commander then end up doing volunteer work(?) with him, leading to a conversation about what it truly means to be a hero.

Arc Ranger Black isn't just an actor; he’s an active-duty Nikke who actually cooperates in Rapture suppression efforts. While he acted more as a mentor helping Trony grow internally during the story event, his cool design and concept made him a character many players hoped would become playable.

#. Black is playable first! Could Red and Blue be next?

It has been confirmed that only one Nikke will be released for this three-week event, and it’s the familiar Arc Ranger Black. However, looking at the teaser images, we can also spot Red and Blue Ranger. Given that Red was personally mentioned by Black in D.ARK HERO, there’s a good chance they will play a significant role in this story as well.

You can’t have a sentai-style show without a combined robot! Another teaser image shows what appears to be a massive mecha. While Black is the only one confirmed as playable for now, if the other Rangers join in, we can look forward to joint gimmicks or animations featuring the robot.

#. Is that the Wing of Victory?! Let’s check the connections to existing Nikkes and the story!

While the full details of the June story event haven't been released yet, there are elements that will surely excite Commanders who love the main story.

First, look for connections to existing Nikkes. You can spot Moran in the teaser image. With a new costume for her on the way, she’s likely to play a major role in this story. Moran is something of a 'dark hero' protecting the Arc, so she should fit right in with Arc Ranger Black.

And we can’t talk about heroes and villains without mentioning the Metis squad. Since they also appear in the teaser image, it will be interesting to see what kind of chemistry they have with the hero group, the Arc Rangers.

One more thing to note is the airship flying in the background of the teaser image. It’s speculated to be the 'Wing of Victory.' The Wing of Victory was the flagship of the former Goddess Squad and later reclaimed and used by Snow White as humanity’s ultimate weapon. It was even mentioned by Ingrid in Chapter 46. It’s a name that gets fans excited, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s handled in this event.
