Fumito Ueda, the game designer who rose to stardom during the PS2 era with titles like Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, has returned.
Zen Atlas, the new game from Ueda's studio, genDESIGN, was unveiled for the first time during the Summer Game Fest Opening Live on June 6 (KST). Previously known only by its working title, 'Project Robot,' the project was showcased with its first official gameplay footage during the event.
True to Ueda's signature style, the game offers little in the way of explicit explanation. Players find themselves stranded on a desolate planet without knowing why, left to uncover the truth of the world and the stories hidden within the ruins of ancient architecture and a massive mechanical civilization. Details about the game remain scarce.
While the release date for Zen Atlas has not yet been announced, pre-orders are now available via Xbox.
