At 2:00 AM KST on June 8, 2026, Xbox unveiled its new lineup of games during its annual Game Showcase.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Xbox, this year's showcase was grander than ever. From titles developed in-house by Xbox Game Studios to highly anticipated projects from partner studios, a wide variety of new games were introduced over the course of about an hour.

Most impressive was the resurgence of 'Xbox console exclusives.' Among the games revealed, 'Gears of War: E-DAY' and 'Clockwork Revolution' were announced as Xbox console exclusives, with releases slated for 2026 and 2027, respectively.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Gears of War: E-DAY

The Xbox Game Showcase 2026 kicked off with 'Gears of War: E-DAY.' E-Day is a prequel to the Gears of War franchise, set during E-Day (Emergence Day), when the Locust invasion began. Marcus Fenix, a man who is a permanent fixture on any list of gaming's toughest icons, takes the lead to deliver the visceral, blood-soaked experience that only Gears of War can provide. 'Gears of War: E-DAY' will be released as a Xbox console exclusive on October 6, 2026 (local time).

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Fable

Fable is an open-world action RPG that emphasizes high player freedom. As in previous entries, players determine their own journey through their choices, build their reputation, and discover that fairy-tale endings are not guaranteed. 'Fable' is scheduled for release on February 23, 2027, with pre-orders starting today (the 8th). Pre-order customers will receive in-game content packs, including a Chicken Suit.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Halo: Campaign Evolved

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of 'Halo: Combat Evolved' built on Unreal Engine 5. While it features the same missions as the original, it offers a fresh experience with enhanced level design, exploration mechanics, and cutscenes. It also introduces a wider variety of weapons and three new prequel missions. Halo: Campaign Evolved will officially launch on July 28 and will be available via Xbox Game Pass. Premium or Collector's Edition buyers can play five days early.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

Resonance, developed by Asobo Studio, is a prequel set in the A Plague Tale universe. Set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem, players take on the role of Sophia as she travels to the Isle of Minotaurs to battle enemies, uncover ancient secrets, and face mysterious creatures amidst a terrifying curse. Scheduled for release on August 27.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Persona 4: Revival

A remake of the critically acclaimed 'Persona 4' is set to launch on February 18, 2027. Persona 4 follows a protagonist who moves to the rural Japanese town of Inaba, where he spends a year enjoying high school life. What begins as a routine of studying, club activities, and part-time jobs soon drifts far from 'everyday life' as a series of murders and the mystery of the Midnight Channel shake the town to its core. Persona 4 will be available on Xbox consoles and PC, and can also be played via Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE State of Decay 3

The new entry in the zombie apocalypse series, 'State of Decay 3,' has been revealed. Like its predecessors, players can build survivor communities, construct settlements, and carve out a life in a world overrun by blood and plague. Of course, you can also enjoy it with friends. An official release date has not yet been announced, but it is planned for release within 2027.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Sea of Thieves Season 20 Update

The 20th season of Sea of Thieves is arriving. This season features a freely customizable ocean, allowing players to decorate spaces to hang out with friends or create competitive game modes for showdowns. It also supports cinematic tools, enabling players to film their own pirate dramas. The Sea of Thieves Season 20 update goes live on June 18.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Metro 2039

4A Games' new title, 'Metro 2039,' debuted a 3-minute trailer during the showcase focusing on the story of 'Hunter.' The trailer, captured entirely from in-game footage, explains the rise of Hunter, a dictator who has seized control of the Metro through lies and propaganda. The trailer showcases advancements from previous titles, including combat mechanics, weapons, new items, and mutants.

In Bad Magpie, players become a one-winged, lonely magpie. As the name suggests, it's a very bad magpie. Cause chaos in the human world by stealing shiny accessories and running away. But the magpie is just too cute. The game will be available via Xbox Game Pass in 2027.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Wo Long 2

A new entry in the dark Three Kingdoms action game series 'Wo Long,' developed by Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja, was unveiled at the World Premiere. As in the previous game, players must master evolved Chinese martial arts and fight through the demon-infested battlefields of the Three Kingdoms alongside famous historical heroes. The character appearing at the end of the trailer looks unmistakably like Cao Cao during the Battle of Red Cliffs. Wo Long 2 is scheduled for release in early 2027.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Join Us

This game, which looks unsettling from the very first frame, is—as the title suggests—about building a cult. Not just any cult, but one preparing for the end of the world. Set in Bedford County, players must gradually expand their influence and recruit devout followers. What will happen when the day of judgment finally arrives? The game supports single-player and up to 4-player co-op, with a release planned for March 2027.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Senua

Revealed as a world premiere, 'Senua' is an action game featuring the warrior protagonist familiar to us from the Hellblade series. The expressive facial acting seen in 'Hellblade' remains, and players can see enhanced combat elements. Senua will be able to use various combat styles, including swords, axes, and dual-wielding weapons. The game is planned for release in 2027.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Fallout 76: Infestations

The new Fallout update, 'Infestations,' adds high-difficulty dynamic encounter content that triggers dangerous faction occupations across Appalachia. Players will explore occupied zones filled with unpredictable enemies and face powerful elite monsters with unique mutations and combat mechanics. Successfully reclaiming these zones can yield exclusive 4-star legendary rewards. The developers explained that 'Infestations' occur naturally throughout the world map, allowing players to jump into intense raid battles while exploring Appalachia.

'DOOM: The Dark Ages' is getting a new campaign expansion, 'Revelations,' which opens a new chapter in the Slayer's story on July 7, 2026. 'Revelations' expands the scope of combat by introducing new stages with deeper puzzle elements, new demons, and new secrets. The all-new, lethal 'Chain Spear' offers a fresh combat experience for veteran Slayers, featuring a system where mastery leads to greater power and mobility. The highly anticipated 'Ripatorium 3' is also included. This DLC adds 3 new maps, new demons, and fully upgraded weapons, while providing deeper customization, an improved passcode generation system, and personal preset save/load functionality.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Crazy Taxi: World Tour

The crazy taxi is back. In 'World Tour,' players take on the role of Axel as he chases down the mysterious masked villains who stole his precious taxi. Race across the globe, take on extreme missions, and earn massive profits along the way. The trailer shows the taxi speeding through downtown San Francisco with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. The game is scheduled for release in 2027.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE Xbox Series X25

The 'Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition' console and 'Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition' were unveiled to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Xbox. Inspired by one of the most iconic console designs in Xbox's 25-year history, it has been reimagined as a Xbox Series X version with modern performance. It is scheduled for release in November 2026. The 'Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition' features a transparent back case and battery cover for the first time, allowing the classic Xbox logo to be seen from the inside. The original-colored ABXY buttons revive the nostalgia of the past with a modern touch, and the green Xbox button recalls the green 'X' logo that symbolized the first Xbox. The controller will be released in October 2026.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE AoE 4: Raiders of the North

A new expansion for 'Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition' introduces new factions. It's time to hit the battlefield commanding two powerful new civilizations: the Vikings and the Scots. This expansion adds new systems for raiding, defense, and strategic evolution, along with expanded 'Crucible' missions and more dynamic new battlefields. The new expansion is scheduled for release in the fall of 2026.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 will be released on September 29, 2026. Following the previous game, it features isometric co-op gameplay, and according to the trailer, harsher challenges than ever await you. Pre-ordering grants 2 hero skins, a 'Twisted Cape,' and a 'Twisted Chicken' pet.

'Magicians' is a narrative-driven FPS where stage magic becomes reality. Players take on the role of Jacob Menturo, a fallen illusionist who made a deal with a devil and was cast into hell. He must struggle to survive in Theaterland, a twisted realm ruled by the rival masters who betrayed him. The game is scheduled for release on September 24.

Xbox GAMES SHOWCASE The Elder Scrolls Online Season 1

The Elder Scrolls Online enters a new era with a seasonal release model. The first season, 'Return of Thieves Guild,' will unfold the narrative of the Thieves Guild, a prominent faction added after 2016. With new stories and characters, players will join forces with the Thieves Guild to stand against the evil Koldane Cartel and expand their influence into Daggerfall. Through this seasonal update, The Elder Scrolls Online aims to introduce interactive adventures, persistent systems, and deeper character and guild engagement.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 showcases the beautiful natural landscapes of the United States through World Update 22. Themed around 'US National Parks,' this update adds over 30 national parks and monuments, and features the iconic 'Goodyear Blimp.' The update is scheduled for July 4, 2026. Content is also ready for players who want to experience the thrilling speed and adventure of air racing. Through the 'National Championship Air Races' launching this fall, you can enjoy the world's fastest motorsport over New Mexico.

A new 'Castlevania' title from KONAMI, Evil Empire, and Motion Twin is scheduled for release on October 15. Set 23 years after 'Castlevania: Curse of Dracula,' this is a 2D action-exploration game. It depicts the growth of Rose Belmont, a member of the young Belmont clan, and features enhanced freedom and a faster pace.

'Vivarium' is a life-simulation adventure game featuring hand-drawn illustration art inspired by timeless classic animation. The DMZ mode, revived in Call of Duty, is an extraction shooter set in 'Hajin City,' a border region between South Korea, Russia, and North Korea. Players must explore Hajin City, secure supplies, engage with hostile factions, and escape safely. The trailer is presented as a simulated gameplay session, showing Hajin City from the protagonist's helmet-cam perspective.
