InXile Entertainment's steampunk first-person RPG, 'Clockwork Revolution,' is officially set for release in 2027. The title was unveiled as a Xbox console exclusive during the Xbox Game Showcase 2026.
While several new titles at the showcase, such as 'State of Decay 3' and 'Senua,' were announced for simultaneous release on PS5, 'Clockwork Revolution' was confirmed as a Xbox Series X|S console exclusive with no plans for a PS5 version. It is the second title from the event to be revealed as a console exclusive, following 'Gears of War: E-Day.'
'Clockwork Revolution' is a steampunk first-person RPG set in 'Avalon,' a city powered by steam engines. Players can travel back in time to alter key events, with their choices shaping the city and the lives of its inhabitants. First revealed in 2023, the game received a more detailed look at last year's showcase, though its release window had remained unknown until now.
The trailer showcases the protagonist's witty and humorous gang members, the landscape of Avalon, and brief snippets of gameplay. It highlights various mechanics, such as rewinding time and interacting with the environment for enemy elimination, with an overall atmosphere reminiscent of the 'Dishonored' or 'BioShock' series.
The game is slated for a 2027 release, though a specific date has yet to be announced. It will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Xbox on PC and Steam), and cloud, and will be included in Game Pass at launch. It also supports Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing players to enjoy the game on both console and PC with a single purchase.
