ESPN reports 2019 Overwatch League Grand Finals will be in Philadelphia, according to sources

In a report courtesy of  Rod "Slasher" Breslau, sources told ESPN that the 2019 Overwatch League Grand Finals would be held in Philadelphia, PA.

The finals are expected to be held at the Wells Fargo Center, a property of Philadelphia Fusion owner Comcast Spectacor and the home of the Philadelphai 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers. The report, which was also contributed to by ESPN Journalist Jacob Wolf, said that the plans were announced by the Overwatch developer in an owners' meeting weeks ago. However, it could not be confirmed whether the venue of the finals was discussed in the meeting.

Earlier this year, Comcast Spectacor announced plans for Fusion Arena, a home stadium for its Overwatch League franchise Philadelphia Fusion, to open in 2021.

Philadelphia Fusion competed in the inaugural Overwatch League Grand Finals against the London Spitfire in July 2018 at Barclays Center in New York City. Spitfire dominated the series with a 3-1 win in the first match, followed by a 3-0 sweep to become the very first Overwatch League champion.
