CI Games has signed a EUR 28.6m syndicated credit facility to finish Lords of the Fallen II, the sequel to its 2023 soulslike, and to fund the game's launch in the first quarter of 2027 (Q1 2027).

According to a release, two Polish banks arranged the loan: Erste Bank Polska and Bank Ochrony Środowiska. No new shares are involved. The money covers what CI Games needs to complete production and run the global marketing campaign through launch, and it will also refinance all of the company's existing bank debt.

Several lenders share a syndicated loan. In this case, 80% of the facility is guaranteed by KUKE (Poland's export credit agency). The loan matures in August 2027. CI Games plans to repay it mainly from sales of Lords of the Fallen II.

CEO keeps all his shares

Marek Tyminski is President of the Management Board at CI Games and its largest shareholder. He made a pledge. As part of the deal, he has committed to hold his entire stake for the full term of the financing.

“We have secured full financing for the launch of Lords of the Fallen II without issuing new shares. That matters for our shareholders, who keep their full participation in the game’s potential success. The banks’ confidence confirms the quality of our project and its commercial potential,” said Tyminski.

He also spoke about his own stake. “I know how much potential Lords of the Fallen II has, which is why I have committed to hold my entire shareholding for the full term of the financing,” he said.

Release date coming in December

There is no exact date yet. CI Games says it will announce one in December 2026, when the main marketing campaign begins. Lords of the Fallen II already has a Steam page, where it is listed as coming soon.

More is on the way before then. A new episode of the studio's ‘Lifting the Veil’ series is due early next week. It features the Launch Creative Team, a group the company says it hired directly from the soulslike community (soulslike games follow the hard, punishing combat style of FromSoftware's Dark Souls).

According to CI Games, the first Lords of the Fallen (2023) sold more than 2.5m copies and reached over 8m players on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

CI Games was founded in 2002. It is an independent developer and publisher, and its other main series is Sniper Ghost Warrior. More information is on the CI Games website.
