Minimap announced that Tombwater officially added Korean language support on October 30. The Version 1.1 update adds six languages, including Korean, alongside a new boss and a starting class respec feature.
The newly added languages are Korean, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Latin American Spanish. Players can now experience character dialogue, story content, item descriptions, and more in Korean. Released this past April, Tombwater is a 2D Soulslike action RPG that earned a Metacritic score of 87.
The starting class respec takes place at the saloon in 'Vauxhall Mining Camp.' By bringing at least one Whiskey Bottle and speaking with NPC 'Drinks Johnson,' players can switch to any of the seven starting classes offered at the beginning of the game. This feature allows players to swap classes mid-playthrough and try out different combat styles.
The new boss can be found at the 'Casket Workshop' north of the Tombwater Cemetery. Wielding an unseen lantern, this boss spreads flames across the battlefield.
Developed by Moth Atlas, Tombwater combines a Western setting with supernatural horror using top-down pixel art. Players assume the role of a gunslinger arriving in the ghost town of Tombwater in search of a missing friend, interacting with residents and exploring the town to uncover secrets surrounding an ancient curse, a mining accident, and a missing sheriff.
Combat combines firearms and melee weapons with spells, cursed charms, and other abilities. Players can wield a cavalry saber alongside magic, or face enemies with a flame-imbued shotgun and pickaxe, while materials gathered during exploration are used to craft potions and explosives.
Tombwater was previously featured on the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted list, which showcases highly anticipated games selected by industry experts. The game is Steam Deck Verified, and the Version 1.1 update, including Korean language support, is live now.
