MMORPG 'Odin: Valhalla Rising' (hereinafter 'Odin'), developed by Lionheart Studio, has received a foreign game license in China. Lionheart Studio is a subsidiary of Kakao Games, which handles the game's domestic publishing in South Korea. Odin was included in the list of 12 approved imported online games published by China's National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) on October 29.

According to the NPPA list, the Chinese title for Odin is '奥丁:神叛'. Both the mobile and PC versions passed review, with an approval date of October 28. The Chinese title matches the name Kakao Games has been using in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the global Traditional Chinese release.
The Chinese service will be operated by Zishun Technology (紫舜科技). According to Chinese corporate database Shuidi Credit, Zishun Technology's official corporate entity name is Shanghai Zishun Information Technology. Founded in Shanghai in 2016, the company has been engaged in PC and mobile game development and publishing.
Dream Square Games (骏梦游戏) is registered as the publisher. Dream Square Games is a Shanghai-based game developer acquired in 2015 by publicly traded Chinese company Fuchun Shares (富春股份). It has prior experience handling Korean IP, having developed 'Ragnarok X: Next Generation' (仙境传说RO: 新世代的诞生) using Gravity's 'Ragnarok' IP.
Odin was launched in South Korea on June 29, 2021. Following its release, Odin held the No. 1 spot in Korean mobile game revenue for two years. During the same period, Kakao Games' ranking among domestic mobile game publishers by revenue rose from 6th to 2nd.
Its overseas expansion began in Asia. In Taiwan, Kakao Games publishes the game while local partner Glohow operates it. The global version was launched on April 29, 2025, and celebrated its first anniversary on April 23, 2026. Cumulative downloads across Korea and Asia have reportedly reached 17 million.
Among the 12 approved titles on this list, Odin is the sole Korean game. In China, even games licensed from overseas IP holders must pass government review before being serviced. Odin crossed that threshold five years after its Korean release. The launch schedule for China has not yet been announced.
