Hello Games has released Forsaken, update 7.10 for No Man's Sky, adding a Halloween-themed trading system, new corvette parts and seamless warping between nearby stars. The free update also brings the full game to iOS devices.
The studio announced the launch on X (formerly Twitter) on October 28th, and the full feature list is on the official Forsaken update page. At its centre are forsaken traders, who can now be summoned at deep-space outposts. They swap new corvette modules, including cockpits, habitation modules and biomechanical hull parts, for haunting mementos that players harvest from deep-space hulks, infested outposts, derelict freighters and planetary digsites.
Collecting those mementos carries a risk, as staying exposed to them for too long draws hostile boundary horrors. Hello Games described the samples as "bizarre, horrifying biological samples" found in "the spookiest regions of the universe." Players who stick with the harvest can earn a Larva Tank helmet and the Mind Harvester title, while the traders also sell a living Larva Cannon Multi-Tool in exchange for preserved grubs.
Seamless warping and quality of life
Stars in nearby systems now show up as targetable destinations in deep space, so players can warp straight to them without opening the Galaxy Map. Forsaken also adds a minimal HUD mode that trims the compass, hazard protection bars and mission notifications, along with a radial wheel for switching Multi-Tool modes.
Other additions include space courier missions from deep-space outposts, Holo-Arena creature battles in deep space and the option to upload off-planet bases to the shared server so other players can visit them. Four new cockpit types, named Vantage, Hornet, Viper and Mantis, and Legion-class corvette interiors round out the ship options.
No Man's Sky on iOS
According to Hello Games, the iOS version has a user interface "built for touch from the ground up," and its engine has been tuned for battery life and heat to allow long sessions on mobile. The studio first confirmed the iOS release in a news post on October 12th.
Forsaken follows Cosmos, the 7.0 update released last month to mark the game's tenth anniversary, which the studio said brought "a huge number of Travellers old and new" to the game. Earlier this year, Hello Games released the Xeno Arena creature battle update and The Swarm.
