4th Branch will officially launch the full version of block-building simulator blockia on Steam on October 30 at 5:00 PM JST. The full release introduces 'Play mode,' allowing players to create block builds online with friends.
blockia is a game where players construct and photograph scenes such as small street corners or furnished rooms using over 120 types of parts. Players design their creations by customizing the color and orientation of each part. The full release expands on the existing single-player building mechanics by adding online co-creation and showcase features.
In 'Build Battle,' part of the newly introduced 'Play mode,' participants construct builds around a shared theme and present them to one another. This mode is exclusive to the full release and was not included in the demo. New parts, instruction guides, and backgrounds will also be added in the full version.
The 'Build mode' provided in the demo allows players to combine basic blocks with building, furniture, nature, and decorative parts. Players can assemble pieces step-by-step following instruction guides and freely edit completed creations.
In 'Photo mode,' players can capture photos of their builds by adjusting composition, background, lighting, and color tones. Captured photos can be viewed in the in-game album or exported as image files for sharing. The demo featuring 'Build mode' and 'Photo mode' will remain available even after the official launch.
The community website Fun Fan blockia and an official Discord server are also currently running for posting and viewing creations. Players can share their work and interact with others across both communities.
Development and publishing are handled by 4th Branch, with Windows as the supported platform. The UI supports Korean, Japanese, English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
