Valofe announced on the 29th that it is completely overhauling the main story and combat system of Last Origin. Scattered scenarios are being restructured into a single narrative flow, while action gauges and a timeline-based combat system are being introduced.
The combat revamp aims to lower the barrier to entry for new players. By eliminating the existing round and AP concepts, the system will allow players to intuitively check whether a character is ready to act.
In the main story, scenarios previously fragmented across stages, side stories, and event chapters will be connected. While preserving key events and the core lore, settings that conflict with the current narrative will be cleaned up. The game will be improved so players can follow the main story to better understand the overall plot and relationships between main characters.
A Last Origin official stated, "We are revamping the game's story to provide a streamlined summary aligned with the overall narrative flow, while aiming for intuitive combat. We will work to present these improvements to players as quickly as possible."
Last Origin is also preparing a collaboration with TalesShop's visual novel game Saniyang Lab in October and December. Under the collaboration concept, Saniyang Lab's main heroines—Namo, Sani, Kiwi, and Lanka—will become Bioroids in Last Origin. Original author Passing Dog is overseeing planning and co-producing with Valofe, and has personally written the event story.
