Netmarble announced on October 29 that it has added new hero 'Estia' to open-world RPG The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. Halloween content was also introduced, with update celebration events running through November 18.
Developed by Netmarble F&C, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is available on PS5, Steam, and mobile. According to Netmarble, the original manga, The Seven Deadly Sins, has recorded over 55 million cumulative copies sold worldwide. Built on this IP, the game allows players to explore the continent of 'Britannia', meeting both characters from the source material and game-exclusive original characters.
Newly joining the roster, 'Estia' is an original hero whose combat role changes based on her equipped weapon. When wielding a wand, she becomes a Holy-element defense and recovery hero, protecting allies with continuous healing, area-of-effect healing, and shields. When using a rapier, she acts as an Ice-element DPS, stacking debuffs on enemies and dealing damage with her ultimate ability. When equipped with a grimoire, she takes on the role of an Ice-element support, boosting allies' ultimate skill damage and critical-related stats while weakening enemy defense capabilities.
The Halloween event 'Freaky Mighty Circus' begins in the 'Capital of Liones' during the harvest festival. The story follows 'Tristan', who is drawn to a mysterious circus tent and falls into an endless nightmare, depicting a horror circus where reality and fantasy blend together. Players can use currency collected from completing quests and defeating bosses to obtain items such as 'Halloween Rate Baskets', 'Radiant Engraving Seals', and 'SSR Mana Crystal Fragments'.
In the new mini-game 'Merge, Sins!', players drop plushies of The Seven Deadly Sins characters into a box. Merging identical plushies to create larger ones earns points. Event currency gathered through play can be exchanged for the special title 'The Narrow-Minded One', 'Halloween Rate Baskets', 'Radiant Charm Potions', and more. The raid 'Sanctuary of Taranis' has also been expanded with a Transcendence difficulty.
An event allowing players to experience the new hero awards rewards such as 'Star Fragments', 'Supreme Mastery EXP', and special materials. From November 4 to 18, an 'Update Eve Check-in Event' will be held, granting logging-in players items such as 'Pick-Up Hero Summon Tickets' and 'Standard Hero Summon Tickets'.
