North American team Wolves Esports has won the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) Season 2, taking the title in Match 12 of the Grand Finals in Lahore, Pakistan, and booking a place at the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) in December.
According to a release, Wolves Esports sealed the win under the SMASH Rule with an 8-elimination Chicken Dinner on Miramar. The prize? $60,000, the top share of the $500,000 prize pool, plus 150 PMGC points. The email sent with the release billed it as a ‘first major tournament win’ for a North American PUBG MOBILE team.
PUBG MOBILE is a battle royale game: up to 100 players drop onto a map and fight to be the last one standing. A match win is called a Chicken Dinner. Under the SMASH Rule, a team first has to build up enough points to become eligible; after that, a Chicken Dinner wins it the title.
By the final match, ten teams had reached that threshold. Wolves Esports knocked out S2G Esports (winner of the 2026 PUBG MOBILE World Cup) on the way to the decisive win, the release says.
The Grand Finals also drew a peak of 1,143,187 concurrent viewers, the highest in PMGO history. The previous record of 1,077,552 was set at 2026 PMGO Season 1.
How the Grand Finals played out
Thirty-two teams started the event, with the Group Stage kicking off on October 20th. S2G Esports and Wolves Esports topped their groups. Four more teams (4K Esports, Alpha7, AlUla Club and Alter Ego Ares) came through the Survival Stage to fill out a Grand Finals field of 16, as Inven Global reported last week.
Day 1 opened with a 19-elimination Chicken Dinner on Rondo for ULF Esports. Horaa Esports finished the day on top, though, with 57 points; its run included a 15-elimination second place in Match 3 and a Chicken Dinner on Erangel in Match 4. ULF Esports (53) and Alter Ego Ares (48) sat just behind. Wolves Esports was back on 39 points, level with OLD NOT and 4K Esports, after a 20-point Chicken Dinner on Erangel in Match 6.
OLD NOT took the first win of Day 2. From Match 8 on, the title was open. INFLUENCE RAGE climbed the table with back-to-back wins in Match 10 and Match 11, but neither came with the SMASH Rule threshold already reached. Wolves Esports got there first in Match 12.
Awards and the road to the PMGC
4K Esports finished third overall in its first international tournament. Its player ALA was named Grand Finals MVP after 23 eliminations. Other awards went to Satar of AK Gold Esports (Best In-Game Leader, or IGL), SkY of Horaa Esports (Eagle Eye), Carrilho of Alpha7 (Grenade Master) and Zeta of Bigetron by Vitality (Field Medic).
Season 2 was the last chance this year to earn PMGC qualification points. 2026 is also the first year PUBG MOBILE Esports has put a second PMGO on its circuit. The PMGC, set for Turkiye in December, will bring together the best teams of the 2026 season for a $3,000,000 prize pool.
PUBG MOBILE is based on PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, which launched in 2017. It is co-developed by LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS of Tencent Games and KRAFTON. The game is free to download on the App Store and Google Play.
