SOOP will host the Group C and D matches of the 'Google Play ASL Season 22' Round of 16, played on 'StarCraft: Remastered', at FreecUP Studio in Daechi-dong, Seoul, at 7:00 PM on the 14th and 15th.
In Week 1 of the Round of 16 held on the 7th and 8th, Park Sang-hyun (Z), Yoo Young-jin (T), Shin Sang-moon (T), and Jaedong (Z) secured their spots in the quarterfinals. In Week 2, eight players will compete for the remaining four quarterfinal spots.
Group C on the 14th features Lee Jae-ho (T), Jung Young-jae (T), Kim Min-chul (Z), and Jo Il-jang (Z). Lee Jae-ho, Jung Young-jae, and Kim Min-chul are all former ASL champions, while Jo Il-jang has finished as a runner-up.
Group D on the 15th features Jang Yoon-chul (P), Kim Jae-hyun (T), Lee Young-han (Z), and Kim Jung-woo (Z). The group includes Jang Yoon-chul, who earned a seed by reaching the semifinals last season, alongside Kim Jae-hyun and Lee Young-han, who advanced from the Round of 24, and former ASL champion Kim Jung-woo. All eight quarterfinalists for Season 22 will be confirmed at the conclusion of Group D matches.
The opening matches for Groups C and D will take place on '(3)Aiolos'. For the winners' match, losers' match, and final match, players will each ban one map excluding '(3)Aiolos', and three maps will be drawn from the remaining pool for a best-of-three series.
Google Play joins as an official sponsor this season. All matches will feature a live audience, with live streams and VODs available on the SOOP esports page.
