In Game 2, Gen.G struck back. With a more aggressive composition and playstyle, they completely washed away the disappointment of the previous set.
In Game 2, Kim "Kiin" Gi-in's Varus picked up a double kill for Gen.G in a top-jungle 2v2 skirmish, while Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu's Nocturne reached level 6 first and took the first dragon. Hanwha Life Esports answered back on the strength of their bottom duo, who had been winning the laning phase. Joining forces with Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo's Akali, HLE traded 2 kills for 1 in a 4v4 clash.
Gen.G looked to build power around top Varus, while Hanwha Life sought to scale on the opposite side of the map using their bottom-lane advantage. Choi "Zeus" Woo-je's Anivia made a super play by charging head-on through four surrounding enemies to eliminate Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk's Kalista, but Gen.G refused to loosen their grip on offense. Capitalizing on every opening left by Hanwha Life, Gen.G translated them directly into points.
Particularly around the 18-minute mark, a surprise mid-lane teamfight yielded the best possible result. Gen.G poured everything in—Flashes, Teleports, and Ultimates—to collapse on the opposing bottom duo, sweeping up all the kills. Varus positioned perfectly at every turn to cut off the enemy's momentum and deftly evaded Akali's assassination attempts, playing a vital role in rolling the snowball.
In a mid-lane standoff, Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong's Yunara, who had targeted Kalista, was caught along with Lulu, followed by Anivia. Gen.G claimed Baron as their prize, pushing the global gold lead past 8,000. Hanwha Life stopped Gen.G from securing the Dragon Soul, but gave up top and jungle in exchange. The surviving members were then wiped out while trying to clear the bottom wave.
Armed with the second Baron buff, Gen.G charged down mid. Varus's explosive damage caught Anivia mid-walk, deleting her from the map, and Gen.G powered through to score a clean Ace and shatter the Nexus.
