Once again this year, T1 failed to reclaim the LCK throne.
T1 brought their LCK season to a close on September 12 after losing 1-3 to Hanwha Life Esports in the 2026 LCK Playoffs Lower Bracket Final held at the KSPO Dome in Seoul Olympic Park. The defeat stings even more because it has been quite some time since T1 last lifted the LCK trophy.
T1's last LCK title came four years ago. While this was overshadowed by their continuous Worlds victories, T1 has consistently struggled to secure the results they wanted in the LCK. When they last won in 2022, T1 was riding high after achieving the monumental record of V10, making their subsequent LCK performance quite disappointing by comparison. Of course, winning three consecutive Worlds titles in 2023, 2024, and 2025 could be considered an even greater achievement in some ways, but Worlds and the LCK are strictly different competitions.
T1 now has no official matches remaining until the 2026 World Championship. Although some players will participate in the Asian Games individually and T1 has a packed off-season schedule—meaning Worlds will be here in no time—fans hope the team addresses the shortcomings of this LCK season and returns even stronger for Worlds this coming October.
