On September 10, Nexon rolled out the 'Refresh' update for its online RPG 'The Kingdom of the Winds', revamping its life and combat content.
In this update, Nexon introduces 'Village Housing,' which integrates life content across account units. It features 8-player instanced villages based on three themes—Wasteland, Forest, and Castle Grounds—and supports land expansion up to 25×25. A Housing Level system that grows through furniture crafting and collecting has also been added.
The eight production types have been reorganized into five gathering types and five crafting types. The update also introduces Housing Gathering Sites, where players can automatically produce and harvest basic and rare materials up to four times a day, as well as 'Forest of Souls,' a manual gathering site for acquiring special materials.
For combat content, a new introductory PvP battleground has been added for players at Level 750 and 7th Promotion or higher. Players earn points through PvP combat and monster kills to move up to higher floors. Even if defeated in battle, players do not drop down floors and will automatically revive after 5 seconds. On the top floor, players engage in final competitive PvP battles.
The existing co-op content 'Susanoo' has been revamped into single-player content accessible at any time. The entry requirement has been lowered to Level 700 and combat power restrictions have been removed in favor of a difficulty selection system. Restructured into five phases lasting approximately 10 minutes, the content now includes new action mechanics such as 'Artillery Support' and convenience features.
Nexon is holding events until October 21 to support housing settlement and character growth. Players who meet the conditions will receive a 'Village Residency Permit' and housing mission rewards, while events such as 'Barini Narsha & Aesthetics of Flow' offer 1+1 level-up benefits up to Level 800. Until October 7, the 'Premium Baram Adventure Event' will also be held for users linked with Nexon Play.
