NEOWIZ announced on the 8th that it has nominated Park Sung-jun, head of the New Project Development Group, as its new CEO. This appointment marks the first time in the company's history that a developer will serve as CEO.
CEO-nominee Park will lead the company alongside current CEO Bae Tae-geun under a co-CEO structure. He is scheduled to officially take office following approval at the regular board meeting in August.

NEOWIZ stated that it appointed a developer-turned-CEO to prioritize expertise and execution from the development front as the company ramps up its new project pipeline. With this move, the company aims to concentrate its full organizational capacity on developing new titles and achieving global success.
Park previously served as development director at NEOWIZ CRS in 2013 and as director of the console development division at NEOWIZ Bless Studio, before becoming director of ROUND8 Studio in 2019. Since 2023, he has also served as head of the New Project Development Group, overseeing NEOWIZ's overall next-generation development lineup.
He is recognized as a hands-on expert who has led development on the front lines, having been a key figure in the global success of 'Lies of P' and its DLC, 'Lies of P: The Story of the Prince.' He is considered the ideal leader to drive global performance. After taking office as CEO, he will continue to serve as head of the New Project Development Group, allowing him to closely align the development direction of major projects with the company's management strategy.
CEO Kim Seung-chul will step down from his position as CEO but will remain an executive director and continue his role as a member of the board.
CEO-nominee Park Sung-jun stated that with several projects currently on track, NEOWIZ will be able to begin rolling out its prepared pipeline of new titles in earnest starting in 2027. He added that he would prioritize the fun that gamers want and leverage his experience and know-how from the development field to focus on creating new hits that resonate in the global market.
