A new story in the SILENT HILL series, 'SILENT HILL: Townfall,' is set to launch on September 24.
KONAMI and Annapurna Interactive unveiled a new trailer for SILENT HILL: Townfall during State of Play. Developed by the Scottish studio No Code, the game is set in 1996 in the fictional Scottish fishing village of St. Amelia. While it takes place in a different region than the American town of SILENT HILL, the thick fog—inspired by the coastal fishing villages of eastern Scotland—maintains the series' signature atmosphere.
The protagonist, Simon O'Dello, wakes up in a village he has no memory of, and players must piece together the fragments of his past. The identity of the character previously heard only as a voice has been revealed as Joy, a local nurse. Since St. Amelia is a strange place to Simon, Joy is also a complete stranger to him, and their relationship remains a central mystery of the game. No Code director Jon McKellan has encouraged players to discover the specific details for themselves in the game.
Instead of the radio that symbolized the series, a portable CRTV device serves as a key tool, and puzzles are designed during the writing phase to be directly intertwined with the narrative.
The game will be released on PC and PS5, and KONAMI has also shared pre-order information. Deluxe Edition purchasers will receive 48-hour early access.
