Lineage Classic offers more than just the thrill of hunting and looting; it’s also about the stories of the people who play it. INVEN recently caught up with 'Aden Is Now,' a YouTuber who plays a Knight on the Zillian server. While not the first across all servers, they were the first on Zillian to take down the Death Knight, and they continue to provide information and entertainment through their videos.
We sat down with them to discuss their journey. Having already cleared bosses like Kurtz, Drake, Baphomet, and Doppelganger, they haven't stopped there, continuing to challenge even tougher foes. We share their story, their goals for Lineage, and their deep affection for the game.

Q. Hello, could you please introduce yourself.
A. Hello. I’m 'Aden Is Now,' and I run a Lineage Classic YouTube channel. I play a CON Knight named 'Muryeok' on the Zillian server.
Q. It's a pleasure to meet you. I really enjoyed your Death Knight clear video. Did you prepare any special settings for that fight?
A. Rather than special settings, the most important thing was finding a spot where about 150 people could gather and deal damage. It wasn't just about finding a place to attack; it was equally important to find a position where we could easily defend against surprise attacks from enemy clans.
Q. I understand you succeeded on your second attempt after failing the first. What was the most difficult part during that initial failure?
A. To be precise, it took more than two attempts. Because of the nature of Lineage, you can't see how much HP a monster has left, so it's hard for participants to know if their damage is actually landing. The hardest part was not knowing whether we would succeed the next time after a failure.

Q. It’s impressive that you overcame those odds to take down the Death Knight. Aside from positioning, what else did you focus on during your preparations.
A. Bosses have phases. We decided it was crucial to get through Phase 1 with minimal effort and then concentrate our power for Phase 2. I believe the key to our success was using the 'character stacking' method to focus our damage.
Q. 'Phase' is a term I've heard in other games, but it's new to me in the context of Lineage. Could you explain that for those new to the game?
A. Actually, there is no official 'phase' concept in Lineage. Players use the term to distinguish between stages based on the boss' attacks, patterns, and animations. For the Death Knight, we consider it Phase 1 when it starts summoning Spartoi, and Phase 2—the finishing stage—when it suddenly starts spamming area-of-effect skills like Hellfire.
We used standard sword and bow attacks, along with Mages using Fireball, to push through Phase 1. Then, we had the Mages focus their Thunder Storm spells to quickly transition into Phase 2. It wasn't a set strategy, but rather one built on experience and intuition.
Q. Thank you for the explanation. Given the nature of Lineage, it's hard to find time and space to practice for boss fights. How did you prepare?
A. We didn't have a separate practice session; we just kept trying until we succeeded. While we didn't have a full group practice, I simulated various scenarios individually to prepare for specific positioning and timing
Q. How did you feel when you finally succeeded after that 90-second push?
A. There was an instant shout of "Wow, we did it!" on our clan's Discord. It felt amazing to succeed after so many failures, and I felt proud to have been a participant in that moment.

Q. At the end of your Death Knight video, you teased a Phoenix clear. Can you share any details about your preparations?
A. I've already released the failure footage as a Short. We are currently planning our strategy by considering the optimal number of players, positioning, and timing.
Q. After the Phoenix, do you have plans for the ultimate dream of Lineage players: the Four Great Dragons raid?
A. Rather than a concrete plan, I'd say it's something we will definitely do eventually. With the upcoming Oren update and the expected introduction of blank spellbooks, I hope that as more methods like 'Counter Magic' become available for boss fights, it will be possible in the near future.
Q. Beyond large-scale boss clears, what other content or goals do you have?
A. I want to create more professional content, such as guides on efficient item settings and purchasing strategies. Also, with the Castle Siege content expected in June, I'm looking forward to covering the battles and the political dynamics between clans on the server.
Q. Thank you for your time. We look forward to seeing more of your content. Any final words for our readers?
A. Please show lots of love to my YouTube channel, 'Aden Is Now,' and I hope Lineage Classic is loved for a long time! Go Zillian server, and good luck to my alliance, the Mujeok Alliance, and the Balrog Clan!
