Blizzard Entertainment will unveil the next expansion for World of Warcraft (WoW), titled Midnight, for the first time at Gamescom 2025 in Cologne, Germany. Blizzard has announced that on August 19 (local time), it will live-stream the opening cinematic for Midnight to a global audience during its Opening Night Live event.
Immediately following the cinematic premiere, a special broadcast will feature Executive Producer Holly Longdale, Senior Game Director Ion Hazzikostas, and Warcraft Universe Creative Director Chris Metzen. During this livestream, the developers will dive into detailed information about the new expansion’s zones, systems, features, and storyline.
An on-site, hands-on experience will also be available for Gamescom attendees. From August 20 through 24, visitors to the World of Warcraft booth in Hall 8 of Koelnmesse will be among the first in the world to try out the expansion’s marquee new feature, Housing.
For online audiences, the Creator Clash event will run from August 20 to 22. Popular streamers will demonstrate Housing, Season 3 Mythic Keystone dungeons, Arena tournaments, and more, all of which will be broadcast live on the official Warcraft YouTube and Twitch channels.
In addition, the community stage will host a variety of activities throughout Gamescom, including developer panels, a cosplay contest, and meet-and-greets with developers and content creators. Blizzard has stated that full details of the event schedule and related information will be published later on the official website.
