Team Liquid Academy have crowned themselves the champions of 2022 LCS Proving Grounds Spring after an epic 3-2 win over 100 Thieves Academy. TLA qualified for the finals of LCS Proving Grounds Spring through the upper bracket and never lost a match on their way to the title.

2022 LCS Proving Grounds Spring was dominated by the teams competing in the LCS Academy league, who outshone the amateur teams within the bracket in both direct and indirect contexts. The final four teams in the bracket were TLA, 100 Thieves Academy, Golden Guardians Academy, and Immortals Academy. 

The way TLA and 100A came into the finals series could not have been more different. TLA had a whole week off to prepare, while 100A came into the series full of momentum after defeating IMTA and GGA in back-to-back best-of-five series' the previous two days. 

The series went back and forth with Team Liquid Academy taking the first game convincingly only for 100 Thieves Academy to hold on in game 2 and equalize the series score after nearly 47 minutes. TLA stormed back in game 3, achieving 20 kills in 25 minutes to push the series to match point in convincing fashion. All looked done for 100 Thieves Academy, but strong early game play and mid game engages by support Alan "Busio" Cwalina on Nautilus pushed the series to game 5.

Ultimately, the series game down to the matchup in the bot lane with Busio and 100A AD carry Michael "Wixxi" Fernandez on his trusted Jinx against the best bottom lane in the Academy system in TLA AD carry Sean "Yeon" Sung and support Bill "Eyla" Nguyen, the latter of whom is widely considered as the best player in Academy. Eyla and Yeon lived up to their reputation, especially in a game 5 punctuated by a phenomenal ultimate on Renata Glasc by Eyla.

The young squad of 100 Thieves Academy fought tooth and nail for five games, but ultimately, Team Liquid Academy's experience under pressure edged out the series in their favor and crowned them the champions of 2022 LCS Proving Grounds Spring.
