OnFleek penalized by Riot and SANDBOX Gaming for racist comment

Riot Games announced a competitive ruling against SANDBOX Gaming jungler Kim “OnFleek” Jang-gyeom for the next season. Riot penalized OnFleek with a 1M KRW (≒900 USD) fine and a ban for three competitive matches. Shortly after Riot announced the penalty, SANDBOX Gaming announced that they will have an additional penalty for the incident. SANDBOX Gaming fined OnFleek for 3M KRW (≒2,690 USD), issued 30 hours of community service, and banned him from the entirety of the first round (9 Bo3 matches) for the next season.

Previously, OnFleek had caused an issue by writing a racist comment while streaming. Riot Games said, “It has been confirmed that OnFleek had used an inappropriate comment while reporting a player during his stream. After checking the facts, we decided to penalize OnFleek with a three-match ban and a 1M KRW fine.”

On this incident, SANDBOX Gaming said, “We will educate about the seriousness and danger of using discriminating or racist comments to all of the players. We'll continue to educate and examine regularly so that such doesn't happen again.”
