Vincero Cavallo capped off a dominant campaign in the 2025 Sprint Series by claiming victory in the SROA Chairman’s Trophy (1200M KOR-G2) on May 18th, completing a clean sweep following earlier wins in the Busan Ilbo Sprint and SBS Sports Sprint.
The four-year-old colt entered the race as the 1.5 favourite, facing thirteen rivals on a bright Sunday afternoon. Among the main contenders were Crown Hamseong, runner-up in the previous two Sprint Series legs, and Black Mamba, who had finished third in both events.
Crown Hamseong broke sharply from the gate to take the early lead, while Vincero Cavallo — typically not a front-runner — settled in the rear division through the back straight. By the final turn, jockey Jo Jae-ro had guided the colt into fifth, moving off the rail to find clear ground.
From there, Vincero Cavallo unleashed a decisive late run, overtaking Fantastic Kingdom, Super Finish, and I’m Jjang before setting his sights on Crown Hamseong. The leader held firm until the closing stages, but Vincero Cavallo surged past with around thirty metres to go, securing the win by nearly a length at the line.
Bred by Cowboy Cal out of City Lass (by City Zip), Vincero Cavallo has now won six of his last eight starts. His rise began with a sixth-place finish in last September’s International G3 Korea Sprint, where he impressed despite carrying only a class 2 rating at the time.
Trainer Seo In-seok reflected on the result, saying: “There is one goal — the Korea Sprint.”
The colt will now target the international Korea Sprint, scheduled for September, where he will aim to continue his exceptional run of form against global opposition.

I write. I rap. I run. That’s pretty much it.
