Just as much as the players who shine on the front lines of dungeons and the Abyss, those who find joy in the game's 'fashion and customization' also leave a significant mark on the community. Aion 2, in particular, has seen a surge in user activity sharing various character designs and dye combinations, thanks to its high-quality Unreal Engine 5 graphics and highly flexible customization system.
Among them, 'Hyanga the Customizer' from the Ariel server is a user who has been consistently sharing outfit combinations, dye codes, and screenshots on the Aion 2 INVEN free board, receiving a great response from many. They don't just introduce pretty combinations; they also share styling know-how using various textures and colors, showcasing their own exceptional sense of style.
In this interview, we sat down with Hyanga the Customizer to talk about the appeal of Aion 2 customization, tips, and even some secrets to taking great screenshots.

Q. Hello! Could you please give a brief introduction to our readers.
Hyanga the Customizer = Hello! I'm a Sorcerer main on the Ariel server, and I'm 'Hyanga the Customizer,' known on the Aion 2 INVEN for my main content: sharing character designs, outfits, and dye codes. Please feel free to call me 'Hyanga'!
Q. You've been consistently sharing outfit combinations and dye information on the free board. What inspired you to start getting serious about character customization and dyeing in Aion 2?
Hyanga the Customizer = For me, character customization, outfits, and dyeing are my top priority when playing games. I was already sharing designs and dye codes in other games, and when I heard Aion 2 was launching on Unreal Engine 5, I knew that as a true 'appearance-changer,' I couldn't resist!
Aion1 already had a high degree of customization freedom for its time, and the in-game outfit designs were high quality, so my expectations for Aion 2 were naturally high.
Q. What would you say is the unique charm of Aion 2's customization compared to other games?
Hyanga the Customizer = I think Aion 2's graphics strike an exquisite balance; they leverage the specific details of Unreal Engine 5 while keeping hair and skin expressions looking natural. If it's too realistic, you hit the 'uncanny valley,' but if it's too artificial, it breaks immersion. Aion 2 feels like it has found that perfect middle ground. In terms of customization and overall visual polish, I think it's at the top level among current RPGs.

Q. It seems like a perfect customization requires a blend of face, body type, and overall vibe. What do you focus on most when you're customizing?
Hyanga the Customizer = I don't think a 'perfect' customization is possible! Haha. I'm sure other customization enthusiasts feel the same, but for me, the color palette, facial balance, and proportions that define the character's vibe are the most important. I prefer designs with personality and charm over just a 'pretty' face.
Q. Looking at the outfit combinations you post, there's a lot of modern style. Where do you usually get your inspiration?
Hyanga the Customizer = I think the modern styles come out more because I share dye codes and combinations whenever new outfits are patched. I don't have a specific standard for inspiration, but I have a bit of a competitive spirit. I often ask myself, 'Can I pull off this vibe with this outfit?' or 'Is there a combination that can make this piece shine?' and I try out many different things.
Q. For users who aren't familiar with fashion or color matching, are there any 'fail-proof' combinations they can follow?
Hyanga the Customizer = First, light pink + sky blue. I recommend this if you like a 'cotton candy' or pastel aesthetic! You can adjust the saturation slightly for a natural look. For textures, I recommend suede, and if you want a pattern, go with plaid.
Second, black + gold. If you're on 'Team Black' but want to add a highlight, mix in a light gold. For the gold texture, pick whatever feels right—stainless steel, car paint, or chrome!

Q. What do you think is the most common mistake beginners make when starting with customization or dyeing?
Hyanga the Customizer = For customization, it's crucial to rotate the character and check the side and profile views, not just the front. You must check the flow and angle of the line from the forehead to the nose and chin. In Aion 2, the cheekbone area can often look distorted, so you definitely need to check that line.
When it comes to dyeing, the lighting in the Aion 2 wardrobe is quite dim, so you need to account for that when choosing your colors. If you use high saturation because everything looks darker in the wardrobe, you might be in for a shock when you step outside! I really hope NC improves this.
Q. Is there anything you particularly like about the Aion 2 customization system?
Hyanga the Customizer = The provided presets are diverse and well-made, so even with just a few tweaks, you can get a great result. Also, the sliders are very easy to use, which I think is a huge advantage for anyone looking to customize.
Q. Conversely, are there any points you found disappointing or would like to see improved.
Hyanga the Customizer = I wish the appearance change ticket wasn't a one-time use, but allowed for a grace period to make edits after the first use. The difference between the lighting in the customization window and the actual in-game lighting is huge. Many users have probably been shocked to walk out and see a 'Who are you?' character standing there instead of the one they worked so hard on. The gap is quite large, and unless they set the customization window lighting to match the in-game lighting, it's hard to bridge that gap.
If we were given some time to edit after using the ticket, we could check the character in-game and fix what needs fixing. Other games give a 24-hour window, and Aion1 even had a 24-hour appearance change box. I'd love to see that implemented.

Q. It must take a lot of effort to organize and upload your outfit combinations and dye codes. Is there anything you pay special attention to when taking screenshots?
Hyanga the Customizer = I try my best to show the colors under various lighting conditions. Dyeing looks so different depending on the light, so if you only look at one setting and follow it, it might look completely different in-game. That's why I try to take screenshots in at least two different locations with different lighting so people can get a real sense of the colors.
Because of that, my posts tend to be a bit long. I hope you understand
Q. I'm also curious about your personal favorite spots for screenshots.
Hyanga the Customizer = I love the 'Pantheon' that everyone uses, the 'Arcania' in Transcendence that many people prefer, and the top of the 'Jumion Statue' for the Elyos, where you get a great view of the sky. Honestly, Aion 2's backgrounds are beautiful everywhere, whether it's a dungeon or the open field, so I often just take pictures while I'm wandering around!

Q. Could you introduce one of the outfit combinations you've shared that you're particularly fond of.
Hyanga the Customizer = I recently obtained the 'Dragon's Afterimage' item through synthesis, and it has this flashy armor texture. The design is totally my style, but I was worried because of the armor material.
But there's a workaround! A key feature of the Aion 2 dye system is that you can change the material. I turned a shiny suit of armor into suede and added a pattern, and it was reborn as a mini-dress look! It’s become my favorite outfit to wear lately.

Q. Are there any types of outfits you'd like to see added in the future?
Hyanga the Customizer = I love fantasy-style robes and leather outfits, so I hope more fantasy looks that are easy to mix and match are released. Especially bottoms that neatly tuck in long tops are very versatile for combinations, so I hope we get more items like that.
Q. Are there any user reactions or comments that have been particularly memorable?
Hyanga the Customizer = My memory isn't the best, so... I'm just always grateful because everyone says such kind things. I don't make these designs to 'share' them in a formal sense; I make them for my own taste and character, and I share them thinking, 'Take them if you need them.' I'm sure there are people whose tastes are different, but so many people leave kind words and support. I am always, always grateful.
Q. Lastly, do you have any words for users who are just starting with customization or dyeing.
Hyanga the Customizer = I believe the most important thing about customization and dyeing is freely expressing your own taste and personality. Especially in a game, I think you can try out various styles for your own satisfaction without worrying about what others think. Even if it's a combination others don't usually go for, you might find a vibe you really love once you try it yourself, and that process is the biggest fun of customization.
Instead of looking for the 'right answer,' I hope you try out the colors and vibes you like to your heart's content. Even in a game, live like a 'Mansour' and always 'respect your own taste.' Fighting!
