Rusty Lake has confirmed that its new game, 'Servant of the Lake,' will officially launch on August 13, 2026. As a prequel set decades before the events of 'Rusty Lake: Roots,' the game unfolds a new chapter within the Vanderboom family manor.

Indie developer Rusty Lake, which has built a unique universe through the 'Cube Escape' series, the 'Rusty Lake' main titles, and various spin-offs, has announced the release schedule for its latest project, 'Servant of the Lake.'
Rusty Lake confirmed the August 13 release date during the 'Story-Rich Showcase,' an event dedicated to narrative-driven games. Although originally slated for a spring 2026 release, the launch was pushed to August to accommodate a doubling in the volume of both the game's story and its puzzles.
The game is a point-and-click title featuring the signature puzzles and atmosphere of the Rusty Lake series. It centers on the Vanderboom manor, bringing the pasts of Aldous and William Vanderboom, along with their sister Alexandra, to the forefront. The characters are deeply intertwined with the events of 'Rusty Lake: Roots,' allowing players to experience the origins and lineage of the Vanderboom family.
The game will be released on August 13 for Steam, itch.io, and mobile platforms, with full support for the Korean language.
