'God of War: Laufey,' the latest entry in the God of War series, will be released for PS5 on February 16, 2027.

Sony announced the release date for God of War: Laufey via its official social media channels on the 25th (KST). As the newest installment in the iconic PlayStation series, the game features Faye—Kratos' wife and a formidable warrior—as the protagonist.

The game follows Faye as she awakens in a strange land after death and navigates 'Everywhere,' the afterlife of the gods, to protect Kratos and Atreus. Everywhere is a world filled with dangerous magic, where cruel gods from various mythologies vie for power.

Faye is a leader of the resistance against the Aesir gods, the guardians of the Jotunn. A warrior whose combat prowess is legendary even among giants, she has long defended the primeval forests alone. Players will experience combat utilizing Faye's agile movements, precision strikes, and powerful abilities and magic.

Santa Monica Studio plans to further expand the God of War universe by exploring the story of Faye, who has remained largely unseen until now. Playing 2018's God of War and God of War Ragnarök will provide a deeper understanding of the world and characters in God of War: Laufey.
