The animated-style life simulation game 'Fields of Mistria' is set to officially launch on August 5.
Today (the 7th), during the Wholesome Direct held as part of Summer Game Fest, it was announced that 'Fields of Mistria,' currently in early access, will be officially launching. First revealed in a 2023 trailer, 'Fields of Mistria' began its early access period in August 2024 and will reach its official release after approximately two years of development.
'Fields of Mistria' is a farming and life simulation role-playing game featuring 2D pixel graphics inspired by 1990s retro anime. Players take on the role of a new resident in the town of Mistria, which has been damaged by an earthquake and is shrouded in strange magical energy, and are tasked with rebuilding the town. The game includes core genre elements such as crop cultivation, animal husbandry, gathering, and socializing with villagers, with progression driven by completing various quests to raise the town's grade and unlock new content.
Gameplay centers on seasonal farming activities and a cooking and crafting system that utilizes harvested produce. A magic system is included to assist character abilities, allowing players to use skills for tasks like watering crops or increasing movement speed during farm management and exploration. Combat and mining are available in the caves near the town, where deeper levels feature rarer resources and stronger enemies, encouraging progressive exploration.
The game also offers detailed interaction and customization features. There are over 30 NPCs, and players can build relationships through conversation and gift-giving, eventually pursuing romance and marriage with certain characters. Players can customize their character's clothing and hairstyle, as well as decorate their personal space using visual editing tools for furniture placement in their home and on their farm.
The official release version will include all updates from the early access period, along with expanded romance content such as raising the NPC friendship cap to 10 hearts, marriage proposals, and a children system. It also features the addition of Stillwell and Zorel to the Saturday Market, new dungeon quests and rewards, an increase in the reputation level cap to 100, the conclusion of the town restoration storyline, new skill perks, furniture, cosmetics, and mount skins, an achievement system, and localization (beta) for seven languages, including Korean.
