An Excellent Buffer and Debuffer, Karl Heron
Healing Control and CC Skills
Karl Heron, currently available as a Pick-up Summon in Seven Knights Rebirth, has been introduced as an offensive hero. Since his initial reveal, there have been many predictions that he would be a viable replacement for Kagura, and he is indeed being utilized in that manner. With outstanding ability to support allies, he has emerged as a key player in offensive decks. Karl Heron lacks nothing in his skill set. His passive is specialized for support, and he demonstrates versatility through his active skill and basic attacks. His passive provides a constant increase in critical damage, as well as an increase in physical damage and effect resistance that lasts for 3 turns. Additionally, enemies facing Karl Heron receive reduced healing. When his skill is enhanced, this effect reaches 52%. His survivability, based on resurrection, is also decent; he possesses immunity to all damage for 2 turns, and upon reaching 6th Transcendence, a buff is added that nullifies all offensive damage to allies, removes debuffs, and increases physical damage. Mark of Lightning and Shock are Karl Heron's signature options. It leaves a mark on the enemy with the highest attack power, lowering their critical hit and weak point attack probabilities. When Karl Heron's attack hits the target, an additional fixed damage effect is applied. Skill 1, which targets three enemies, prioritizes the marked target. Skill 2 targets all enemies. Additionally, his basic attack and Skill 2 apply an extra shock effect to the marked target, which also carries the effect of additional damage along with an action restriction. Furthermore, Skill 1 has physical weakness, and Skill 2 can probabilistically trigger shock even if the target is not marked. With a passive that appropriately mixes buffs and debuffs, and a versatile active skill, Karl Heron seems to be establishing himself as a main card in offensive decks. In particular, thanks to the Mark of Lightning, teams facing Karl Heron now need to specifically counter that mark. While not a flashy carry-type hero, he can be seen as a well-rounded hero who is helpful to offensive decks. Karl Heron, whose ally support abilities become significantly stronger upon achieving 6th Transcendence PvP content is his main stage Difficult to play as a main dealer, but a power-boosting card for offensive decks Karl Heron possesses enough firepower to act as the team's first option He is not a hero. Rather, his ability to support the team is exceptional. His main stage can be considered PvP content. He is a valuable asset not only in 5v5 content such as the Arena, Advanced Arena, Real-time Arena, and Total War, but also in Guild Wars. Of course, since his passive effect activates properly when paired with an offensive hero, he is used as a component of offensive decks in all content. His advantage of possessing the Mark of Thunder stands out, as it can restrict the performance of the opponent's main damage dealer. Combining him is not difficult. You simply replace Kagura with Karl Heron. Since their critical damage passives overlap, using them simultaneously is not efficient. In fact, given that Kagura has been showing somewhat underwhelming performance in offensive decks recently, Karl Heron's addition feels all the more welcome. The main components of the offensive deck have been determined as Lu Bu, Theo, Branz & Bransel, Landgrid, and Karl Heron. It seems safe to say that these five heroes are fixed for the offensive deck composition in 5v5 content. Even when looking at the Arena or Advanced Arena, no other offensive deck combinations were observed in the top ranks. Regarding pets, Yu is also preferred over Ilin. However, detailed settings tend to vary depending on personal preference and the equipment and accessory holdings. If the accessories are excellent, the focus is on internal strength, whereas otherwise, the emphasis is on ensuring speed. Recently, offensive decks that prioritize effect resistance have also become quite common. They have also been observed being combined with cards such as Lu Bu and Landgrid in Guild Wars. Although they receive less attention due to being overshadowed by their PVP performance, they appear to be fully usable in PVE as well. Likewise, if you place her in Kagura's slot, you can utilize various buff and debuff effects. Additionally, Shock can be helpful for key PVE strategy points. Although it does not have an option to reliably restore allies' HP like Kagura, it is considered a sufficiently decent card as it can provide damage nullification and debuff removal upon resurrection once it reaches 6 Transcendence. Karl Heron, who has taken the place of the former Kagura Karl Heron is utilized in the same way in Total War offensive deck compositions. Equipment selection is Vanguard or Shaman
It is difficult to secure all the desired options
The atmosphere regarding equipment selection seems to be divided between the Vanguard and the Shaman. The Shaman has a strength in effect application probability, which can increase the usage of Karl Heron's Shock. The Vanguard can be seen as a tool for balancing things a bit more. Although it falls short compared to the Shaman, it has a 20% effect application bonus on the 4-set bonus and provides all Attack % options, which can increase Karl Heron's own attack power. When facing the same attack team, it helps to induce the opponent's Karl Heron's mark to go to Karl Heron instead of your team's main damage dealer.
The selection of main equipment options also seems to depend heavily on personal preference. If you go with the Vanguard, you typically equip two weapons with all Attack % bonuses and take Effect Resistance for the armor. It appears the strategy is to increase the stability of Karl Heron's 2-turn damage nullification, which serves as his survival mechanism. This also acts as a way to resist CC skills as well as Teo's Black Wing Crescent Slash, which can be tricky when facing similar attack decks. I've noticed that this setup focusing on Effect Resistance is being utilized not only for Karl Heron but also for the support lines of recent attack decks. If you use a Shaman, it might be slightly easier to secure both Effect Resistance and Effect Accuracy. However, that doesn't mean the Shaman is easier; since you need to increase all Attack Power anyway and there are cases where Speed Attack is required, the difficulty level is not significantly different from the Vanguard. For 6th Transcendence or higher, you can choose a set based on your preference and equipment holdings, but for around 2nd to 4th Transcendence, you could also consider using a Shaman to increase the efficiency of Shock. Of course, no matter which set you choose, you will likely need to sacrifice something among Effect Resistance, Effect Accuracy, Attack Speed, and Attack Power. If you have prioritized Attack Speed in your existing offensive deck, it would be faster to sacrifice Effect Accuracy; conversely, if you have operated a solid, internal-oriented team, you might need to forgo Attack Speed. This choice will likely depend on the accessories and equipment you possess. I tried to get some Speed Attack on the Vanguard, Gonggonghyohyo, but even that wasn't easy. So, we've taken a look at Karl Heron, who has newly emerged as a part of the Attack Deck. If you are enjoying PvP content centered around the Attack Deck, it might be worth considering 6th Transcendence. Once 6th Transcendence is reached, the support effects for allied Attack-type heroes are significant. When Karl Heron is revived, he gains benefits such as 2 instances of all damage nullification, 2 debuff removals, and a 19% increase in physical damage, targeting allied Attack-type heroes; this becomes an important factor in boosting the overall performance of the team. Of course, the 2nd Transcendence effect is helpful as it increases the shock probability of basic attacks and active skills, but it is true that there appears to be a gap compared to the 6th Transcendence. Therefore, if you have the resources, aim for the 6th Transcendence; otherwise, utilize it as a CC-focused card at the 2nd Transcendence and set your goal to upgrade to the 6th Transcendence later.
